My 5 month old fell off the bed :(

I was asleep and usually my baby boy sleeps between me and his dad and well my husband got up to get ready for work like he always does I was sleeping and I didn't feel or hear my son moving or waking up and then I hear a thump and I run to the other side of the bed and pick up my son he cried he fell on carpet the bed is pretty high i feel but I was calm but in shock and he calmed down within one minute we checked his little body no bruises and his head no bruises I kept him awake for a whole hour I just feel so horrible that I didn't feel him move around and that I was laying right next to him

my heart is honestly hurt I feel just horrible has this happened to anyone and when it did what did you do? Or feel?

Mine rolled off the couch yesterday. I was right next to her, putting on her sister's socks. Happened so fast. She cried for about two seconds, I think mostly it scared her. Scared me too. It happens all the time. Having said that, tell your husband to put his pillow under the sheets when he gets up. That's what we do (we bedshare).

We do he puts his pillows where he sleeps so our son thinks someone is there but when he fell he brought down the pillows too. How is she? I'm sorry it happened to you too I feel the worst.

My mom gave me my baby book to look at - apparently I fell off the bed at 2 months. As a baby, I was an overachiever. :-p

You're a good mom - kids injure themselves. When SS was barely 6, he tried to iron his face with 3 adults in The room...one was there for the sole purpose of "watching" him. (Thanks MIL...)

L Bug fell off the bed just last week. Remember, accidents happen, and it's good that your LO cried when they hit the ground. Did you call their pedi to speak with a nurse after it happened? My pedi's nurse told us to watch L Bug for 24hrs just in case she had a concussion. L Bug could nap at her normal times and everything but we had to check her every ten minutes to make sure everything was normal. That was through the night also.

That was the same day I swore to transition her to her crib. We've had ups and downs since starting. I know have a mattress on the floor in my room that I'll bring her to if she wakes up in her crib.

DD1 fell off the bed the same way-off hubby's side in the morning. She was normally between me and a rail, but I had flipped her there to feed from the other side. I'm paranoid now with LO. She's now starting the night in her crib in our room, occasionally going between us if she can't settle. But mornings and naps she goes to her floor bed in her room (twin mattress with bedrail). She's very close to crawling, so I'm trying hard to phase out our bed, and just go with her to the other room if needed.

My LO learned to roll off the couch last week. I felt absolutely terrible about it

but she landed on carpet and didn't hit her head. She surprisingly didn't even cry for longer than 20 seconds. The one that made me feel the worst is two days ago she was sitting up on the carpet because she's FINALLY learning to sit unassisted and she leaned over and bumped her head on the leg of the coffee table. It wasn't hard or anything and I was right next to her to pick her up but it was enough to make her cry for 5 minutes.

When my LO was 5 months she fell off the bed too

I was at work and my husband was home with her. He freaked out so bad he called 911! She was fine though, the Dr said to just watch for 24 hours. I felt so bad afterwards and am still really paranoid.
