Musinex?

I have horrible sinus pressure and congestion.  I can't breathe. I have tried the neti pot but my sinuses are so congested, the water won't go through. 

Can I take musinex (not DM) during first tri? I hate to call the on call Dr to ask and I don't have a list of safe meds.

    you'd hate to call the doctor? don't feel like you're bothering them. that's their job. I personally wouldn't take medical advice about a potentially harmful medicine from the Internet....

    All of the above, and your doctor could give suggestions on safe meds or ways to treat certain symptoms if you can't take meds.

    My doctor said afrin was okay. She gave me a handout of "okay" medications at my first visit. Mucinex is not on that list. 
    That being said, your doctor may tell you otherwise. Don't feel bad for calling. That's what they're there for. My insurance company also has a 24 hour nurse hotline. If yours has something similar you can try that.

    I would trust either my doctor or the hothine over any advice I got on the Bump.

    Not sure about mucinex but I have the same congestion and my ob said sudafed is ok to take. I've been taking it since yesterday.
