Re: Weekend Ticker Change 3/5 & 3/6
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: braxton hicks, back pain. I think she's head down now because I got a little relief with her not feeling like she's in my chest. I'm loving all her movements but they're so strong they wake me up.
Upcoming Appointments: march 9th with another dr because my dr is on medical leave
Questions For the Group: none right now
GTKY: (Lately I've been stealing these from ticker changes earlier in the week because I have no motivation to think of different questions..) What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)?
We have all the standard books from DD#1. I did order the baby a Lost My Name book with her name in it. I think it's a cute book. One of the better personalized books I've seen.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: same as last week- sore and swollen. Tired, but atleast I sleep straight through the night this week.... Hope that continues! By he weekend I'm so exhausted from working that it's nice just to lay around the apartment and rest.
Upcoming Appointments: I'm on the every other week plan now, so March 16.
Questions For the Group:
GTKY: (Lately I've been stealing these from ticker changes earlier in the week because I have no motivation to think of different questions..) What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)? Oh I got her sooo many so far, but my favorites growing up were always the Berenstain Bears so she has a couple of those already. This week I want to start reading To Kill a Mockingbird to her. It's my favorite and since I want to read it again, I thought it was appropriate to read to MY lil Haper before bed
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Failed my 1 hour glucose test Monday so prepping for my 3 hour over the next 3 days. 150 g of complex carbs every day, fast Monday night from 8 pm until my appointment the next day, drink lots of water... Bleh. Other than that everything is good.
Upcoming Appointments: 3/8 for 3 hour glucose test and then pass or fail of that I have another regular one 3/14. However if I fail, 3/14 will be the last one with my midwife and I will have to search for a new provider at 31 weeks bc they wouldn't be able to see me anymore. Fingers crossed bc finding a new doctor with 9 weeks to go doesn't exactly sound fun...

GTKY: (Lately I've been stealing these from ticker changes earlier in the week because I have no motivation to think of different questions..) What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)?
All the books! Honestly I can't pick just one. I was a bit of a book nerd when I was little. I loved getting new books. Still kinda am that way but anyway... I just hope she ends up liking to read as much as I did (and still do)
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I'm at my friend's house for the weekend without Husband and I have my own bed...slept sooo good last night! Heartburn seems to be doing fine during the day, but as soon as I lay down for bed it flares up. Other than that just general discomfort and lots of trips to the bathroom..
Upcoming Appointments: Glucose & monthly on Monday the 7th
Questions For the Group: none
GTKY: What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)? The Giving Tree & Oh! The Places You'll Go
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling good, mostly. Shortness of breath, heartburn, leakage down under (checked that it wasn't amniotic fluid, and we're good), and belly itchiness, but all minor. Unless terror counts as a symptom. Our week countdown is now in the single digits and I am flipping the heck out because I am *so* not ready for baby to arrive.
Upcoming Appointments: This Friday I see my OB for the first time since our 12-week consult. I've been to see her NP for every other appointment, and I really like her, so I'm a little sad to be moving on, but with the end nearing, I feel like I should get to know one of the people who might be delivering baby. Also need to tell her our pediatrician choice, which was the single easiest thing to take care of: DH's littlest sister is still little enough to be seeing a pediatrician (who also happens to be the same man who was DH's pediatrician and who diagnosed DH's heart condition when he was an infant just by listening through a stethoscope), so all we had to do is make sure he took our insurance, which he does. Thank goodness for small favors!
Questions For the Group: None this week!
GTKY: What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)?: My favorite book growing up was a random book my folks picked up at a local book shop when they were on vacation in the '80s. It's called Ribtickle Town, by Allen Benjamin, and it's about a kid who takes a tour of a topsy-turvy town with a bear as his tour guide, and people live in houses made out of petit-fours, teapots, and old shoes, and eat spaghetti cakes for dinner. Anyway, I tried to find a copy for my kiddo, and it turns out they're selling (used) for $2500!! Since I initially looked, I've seen copies from $120 and up, but it's pretty ridiculous. I told my mother this, though, and she and my father went on a mission to find affordable copies at estate sales, etc. Now we've got three more copies ($10 each), one for each branch of grandkids:) The Giving Tree is another must-have!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling pretty good overall but the last couple days I have had some serious shin splints. Any tips for dealing with the pain? Baby moon begins in 7 days....countdown is on!
Upcoming Appointments: Tuesday for rhogam shot and 3/21 for regular OB check up. After that its every 2 weeks
Questions For the Group:
GTKY: (Lately I've been stealing these from ticker changes earlier in the week because I have no motivation to think of different questions..) What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)? We have a lot of books of our registry so hopefully she will be stocked up after the showers. DH loved The Giving Tree so of course that was on there. One of my favorites was Corduroy
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling great this week: trying my best to lay low and keep the contractions to a minimum. We had a low stress week, so just a dozen or so contractions scattered throughout the day - is a good day for me!
Upcoming Appointments: This Tuesday, March 8th, routine OB appt. I should be able to schedule my c/s at 30 or 32 weeks! Can't wait to have an "end" date. I'm hoping for May 8th or 10th, but I don't know if they will let me go that long.
Questions For the Group: The last few days the calf cramps and headaches have been back. I'm well hydrated and not on my feet too much. Any ideas? Anybody else?
GTKY: Favorite baby book: We love Jamberry and Pat The Bunny. One of my favorite (in a 4-5years) is No Fighting, No Biting.
Happy 3rd Tri to our Weekend Ticker! We're all 28weeks - awesome!!
so maybe DD#2 and I ate 2 cupcakes to celebrate!

R/R/S- my arm is killing me from my TDAP I got at yesterday's appointment! He gave it in my left arm and I sleep on my left side. It hurts to even raise my arm above my head!
I'm measuring big! I'm measuring 32 weeks despite being only 28!
Im also stressed because they never booked the OR that they told me my C-section date would be and now they're saying it will only be on that date if the OR is available for the first time slot otherwise they'll push it to the next day or the day after that. It's stressing me out because I had everything arranged for DD to be taken care of by out of state family and if the day changes it screws up everything. I'm calling on Monday to find out if they got that first time slot or not.
Appointments- had one yesterday and now I start going every 2 weeks! Yay!
GTKY- we have a gazillion books from DD so I doubt he will be getting any more books.

Hey there - I'm measuring big too! I measured 30wk when I was just over 26wks. I have an appt this week, so I'm interested to see if I'm growing at the same rate. I'm not going to stress about it though, because baby was growing right on at 20wk anatomy scan. Hope you get your OR slot!!
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Raves: Strong movements! Don't know what he's busy with!
Rants: Meh, just overall soreness.
Symptoms: Nothing new.
Upcoming Appointments: 14th of March
GTKY: I feel like, since growing up we had 4 sets of Harry Potter books (one for each child and my parents shared a set) that Alex needs a set of those. He's also basically got a full collection of Roald Dahl, and I'm sure I will get him from our favourite Dr.
If he's anything like me, he'll need a BIIIGGGG shelf.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I'm so super uncomfortable. Would love for this baby to pop out.
Upcoming Appointments: The 24th.
Questions For the Group: @JennyS86 I got my tdap at my 28 week appointment, but I had to ask for it. My dr has never once mentioned it.
GTKY: What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)? Nothing for just one kid. I have several series for all the kids, though. I didn't start collecting books until last year because the kids just ripped them to shreds and I didn't see a point. With a home schooled 6th grader, I'm trying to catch up. I'm hoping to have quite the library.
Upcoming appts: tomorrow and then every two weeks
RRS: heartburn, heartburn, heartburn. Did I mention heartburn. It's messing with my sleep which in turn messes with my soul. 10 more weeks. I know I've said it before but it's my worst pregnancy symptom and was last time. I remember at the hospital with my first being so happy because it immediately disappeared. Also, I have never had it not pregnant either, so I'm ready to say goodbye!!!
GTKY: all the books. My husband and I are big readers. My big treat growing up was going to the library weekly and my daughter already has a library suitcase she takes once a week for new books! We love to read together!
Week/Fruit: 32/squash I like Ovia's: Naked tail armadillo. As a Texan, this is both hilarious, and said, because they are most often seen as road kill.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Heartburn, although between Zantac and Tums I think I have it under control enough to sleep. My hips are getting pretty sore. May need a trip to the chiropractor.
Upcoming Appointments: St. Patrick's day! I'm going biweekly now.
Questions For the Group: Nope
GTKY: (Lately I've been stealing these from ticker changes earlier in the week because I have no motivation to think of different questions..) What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)?
This is hard.... I guess the Pigeon books by Mo Willems.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: everything started being super uncomfortable this week. Standing for too long, sitting for too long, lying in one position for too long... just can't win. Super swollen too; had to take off the wedding ring this week. So much movement though! One twin is kicking me in the ribs, the other in the cervix.
Upcoming Appointments: Perinatologist on 3-9, glucose test on St. Patrick's day. Will be every 2 weeks after that.
Questions For the Group: what did y'all STMs do with your pets when you delivered the first time?
GTKY: What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)? A lot of ones when they're older, but we got gifted The Poky Little Puppy yesterday which made me super happy.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: I get so full so fast. I'm hungry, I take a few bites, I'm immediately full. I cry at everything. It is so uncomfortable to bend over.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday for my 32 week appointment, then I start going in for weekly ultrasounds.
Questions for the group: Has anyone had any SPD pain? I find walking helps, but is there anything else I can do?
GTKY: Are you doing newborn photos? If so, any plans for the outfits you'll have LO in? Yes, and I haven't thought about it. I think my photographer comes equipped with all that stuff. I guess I should ask her!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Braxton Hicks...about one a day (went without one on Saturday AND Sunday, yay! I say yay because they cause intense, sharp stabs in my lower back). She's a mover and a shaker though...I'm loving all the moving!
Upcoming Appointments: Appointment at the lab for my 3-hour glucose test (totally dreading it) tomorrow. And my 30 week appointment next Monday (on the twice a month schedule now)...probably going to do a 3D/4D while we're there.
Questions For the Group: Is it the norm for women to do a maternity photo shoot? I haven't really put much thought into it until now and don't want to regret it if we don't do it. It's my first pregnancy, so I know it would be a good idea to do it. I'm thinking of having an acquaintance that is just getting into photography do the maternity photos (to save money) and have our engagement/wedding photographer do the newborn shoot.
GTKY: What book do you feel like your baby absolutely has to have a copy of (if any)? I'd definitely like to have some of the books I grew up with. Goodnight Moon was always a favorite. My Mom saved the books that my Grandma taught me to read on and gave them to me...brought me to tears. I mean they were OLD when I learned on them...old, as in, See Dick run, go, Spot, go and play, Sally, play!
I'm doing a maternity shoot. They're probably not pictures that I'll post all around the house, but I think it's a significant moment in our lives I'd like documented. My husband will be included in some, but not all of the pictures, so if I were to frame any it would be including the both of us. I also got a really great deal on a maternity/newborn photos combo package so it just overall makes sense to do the maternity shoot.
