Nystatin & gas drops questions

So little miss has been taking Nystatin for a week, 4 times/day. She has been extra gassy and has little sharts in her diaper every time we change her. 

Is the gas and diarrhea symptoms of that med? Did anyone have these issues with their LO's? 

I bought some gas drops today and they seem to be helping. Usually she takes forever to fall asleep, but she just laid down on my chest and fell asleep tonight. I guess it's working! 

Also, how many times a day can you do the drops?

    No experience with nystatin but I asked my pedi about gas drops at our last appointment and she said they are safe for every feeding - 10 to 12 times a day.

    My baby has awful gas so we have him on probiotics and then we also tried simethicone drops. My pedi told me to only use the gas drops once a day with a newborn. Neither seem to have helped any, baby still screams a ton and then passes gas.

    It depends on what you mean by "gas drops". If you're talking about medication like simethicone, ask your pedi or read the bottle. My pedi does not recommend simethicone before a certain age. 

    If you're talking about something like gripe water, you can use it more liberally. Again, the bottle will say.
