Question about AF coming

so I keep track of my period on an app. And it's pretty much clockwork give or take a day. And always has been. My question is this: I would think with all these treatments I would be getting AF the day of my beta if not pregnant but I'm still following the calendar. So my beta should be today but AF according to the calendar shouldn't arrive until Sunday. One month I got AF five days after my beta but it was right on time according to my calendar. I'm not on progesterone either. Wouldn't I get AF the day of beta if I'm so regular? Sorry. I hope this makes sense. Haha

Re: Question about AF coming

  • I think that blood tests are more accurate and can detect pregnancy before an at-home test, so docs can check before you would normally POAS. I think my doc will bring me in 10 days after my FET, but AF wouldn't be due to arrive for 4ish more days if I'm regular. Does that help?

  • My AF is on the clock and I have a long cycle.
They let me wait for beta 14 after FET and this time even 16 days. Which is 2 days after my AF.
As my snowflakes are 5 days old at 14 days wait, I'm 19 days after conception when having beta.
But like @dragonfaerie says, bloodwork is much more correct and could be done before AF.

  • I think it all depends on what day your beta is scheduled for...my betas were always 14dpt (not IUI), but some people have pretty late betas. Did you get your results yet? I've had my FX for you this IUI would finally work. Guess it's IVF next? Big hugs to you!
  • Thanks guys. I wasn't asking about betas or blood tests. I wasn't clear. Haha. I was asking more about a cycle. That I would think that AF would arrive 14 days piui or ovulation and not follow my app calendar. As I said I have technically been five days late before according to my IUI schedule but right on time according to my app calendar.
  • @Drove2u I remember we had talked about this before and I have a similar thing. I get my AF usually 16-17 days post ovulation. I had only one IUI cycle, in that one also my AF was at 16dpiui even though HCG is always negative and the progesterone was <1 by 14dpiui day. My doctor did not give any answer why my LP is so long or showed any concerns . He just said that it is interesting
I guess the apps only use your previous cycle lengths and if you are always having the same cycle length then they can estimate better than 14 day LP.
  • I'd definitely talk to your RE about your cycles being that long. The one time I got an unusually long cycle was after my laparoscopy, when it turns out I had a cyst. That seems to have delayed everything, but I was able to start my cycle right away after because it wasn't producing estrogen.
