Anyone experience where they can't have chicken that is cooked in your own house but could eat chinese food, fried chicken.....just something that is not made in your house.
I am having aversions to nearly everything. I can't cook because I hate all food right now, except when my mind finally settles on something tolerable I HAVE TO HAVE IT. And usually it is something I don't have in the house so DH has to get it. The problem then is that I end up so hungry I am just absolutely sick to my stomach. I am in a nasty cycle of just feeling like crap all the time as a result.
Lord have mercy yes. If I cook it, I don't want a damn thing to do with it once it's done. I think maybe it's the smell from it cooking and just being overall tired after preparing meals? I don't know what the deal, either way, I do have to force myself to eat all day everyday and it's rough but a necessary evil. The food makes me sick before I eat it but once it's done I feel fine, and if I don't eat and get too hungry I feel WAY sicker anyway.
For me, it's not just chicken. I feel like anything that gets cooked at home makes me nauseous. Like, if I think about making meatballs and spaghetti at home, just the thought of it makes me gag. But if I think about the meatballs at Buca di Beppo (already made!), it makes me hungry. Haaaa. I don't understand.
Like @AllyTheKid , it only makes me sick before I eat it, but once I'm eating it---I actually end up eating a lot!
Every pregnancy, including this one, I have not been able to cook chicken in the first trimester. I can eat it if my husband cooks it however, even if I am in the house, but we also grill most of our chicken outside. Raw chicken is just disgusting when Im in the first tri and smells awful
I had major chicken aversion when I was pregnant with DS. Couldn't have it in my house but going to PF Chang's and ordering chicken was fine lol. I've had my husband make most of the dinners since the BFP this time.

Yes! Thought it was all chicken in general, but I went to a mexican food restaurant & suddenly wanted chicken fajita tacos...and they were great! And this morning I'm craving chick-fil-a chicken nuggets...oh I need some now! But the thought of cooking chicken at home, ugh. Nope.
SAME!! I can't even look at it and we haven't bought it to cook in a few weeks. I can't have it anywhere. I on'y want beef for some reason. I used to love ground turkey and that's a total turn off too.
Married 11-11-11 TTC only since Dec 2015. I had some weight to get off. Been working hard in the gym for over a year. BFP 02-15-16 with our first IT'S A BOY!!!
That being said, what I can/want to eat changes by the minute, Yesterday I wanted hot wings, the day before I only wanted french fries with mayo, before that it was steak. Single foods per meal.
So our puppy has been sick for what feels like forever and he's mostly been on a diet of boiled chicken and rice. I was showering yesterday when DH fed the pup and when I came back out, I couldn't stop complaining about the smell of the chicken. I'm supposed to be making chicken for dinner tonight and I really hope it's not going to be an issue.
We feed our dogs raw food and one of their staples is chicken quarters. My husband has been really good about feeding the dogs for me but between his class and work schedule, sometimes I have no other choice. Seeing or thinking about raw chicken is enough to make me vomit. I have been powering through by holding my breath and trying to stare at the numbers on the scale and not the food itself.
I am also in the "can't eat anything cooked at home" camp so we have been eating out a lot, unfortunately. I hope it gets better soon!
YES. I couldn't eat a homemade chicken with peppers over rice the other night but I could eat a chicken strip from a bag in the freezer section and fast food burgers sound good. Wtf. I am having the weirdest food issues. Most meat is an absolute no go. Soups are in. Lentil, tomato and red pepper, etc. Chickpea curry with couscous went okay tonight. Oatmeal is good.
Yup! DH cooked chicken last week and I had to take the dog out for an hour while he opened all the windows (not great in Canada in Feb!) because the smell was making me so sick. But in restaurants or take aways I'm actually craving chicken. I'm lucky that DH has been so great cooking meals because the last two weeks the thought of making any food makes me naseaous. I read the weekly food thread on here and am so impressed with the ladies still making great meals while I'm struggling to get cereal together without running to the bathroom
@MRSCORKER YES! We had the same issue. Pup has been having stomach issues forever so we had him on ground turkey and rice for a couple weeks. I literally had to hide upstairs while DH cooked the turkey. The smell and look makes me want to throw up. So disgusting.
I haven't been able to cook meat in weeks, and can only eat it out once in a while. It's been making dinner very tricky. Lots of pizza and pasta (good thing I'm Italian haha).
Yup! unless it's in nugget form or somebody else cooked it. If it's just strata grilled chicken or bland, the thought of it makes me want to gag. I've been useless in the kitchen lately.
At first I just couldn't cook meat, but now I can't even eat it unless the flavor is completely masked. I set out ground chicken last night for the hubs to brown, thinking I would pick up the meal prep after he was done. I was 2 rooms away and the smell bothered me so much I had to go into the back bedroom and shut the door, then he had to finish getting dinner ready.
My husband is grilling sausage right now and the smell has wafted through the whole house. It's making my stomach turn. I'm having the hardest time with home cooked food and have been ordering out a lot and feeling horrible about it.

My aversions are stronger than my cravings right now! Chicken is at the top of the list and oysters are #2. I meant to order a dish at my favorite Chinese restaurant as vegetarian but forgot to specify that detail (I forget a lot anymore!) and there was chicken in the dish... I ate it just fine. I think it's the sight and smell of raw chicken.
Yes. Although going vegetarian doesnt seem very practical for me right now, all I know is this chicken thing is the worst, other raw meat is grossing me out, and the smell of anything with meat cooking isn't good. Sometimes I can stand chicken from a restaurant/takeout but today after Chinese food didn't work out well at all, ginger ale is my meat substitute...
Chicken was totally out with DS for the whole 9 months. I hated grocery shopping because of the rotisseri chicken they sell. It's been not so bad this time, I can eat it, but I'd prefer a steak.
Any meat for me right now is off the table... I thought it stopped but I ate half a burger and Friday's yesterday and was done! Got home and got sick! Took home the fries though lol ... Sweet potato fries are my weakness haha... Besides the burger chicken comes up too
any meat with fibers is an issue. not ground beef thank god but like chicken and steak and shrimp depending on the day....lots of pasta dishes happening

Same here! Unless its fried, which I don't love eating. So pasta here too. BUT.... Ate meat at the Melting Pot tonight and didn't wanna vom. Whoop whoop! How did the tapas party go??
@bnsmith85 it wasn't tapas it ended up being chicken pork some rice and a macaroni salad.
therefore I just finished a mcdouble in bed. couldn't stomach the smell of the nuggets tho. my husband just said "pregnant women are so weird" you haven't realized this already?
maybe the melting pot meat wasn't as bad bc of how it was cut? it's usually thin slices right?
Anybody else keep seeing this and thinking it's about an aversion to chicken food?? Ha.
Can't say I have any specific aversions at the moment, but pretty much the only things that sound good are combinations of carbs and cheese (crackers and cheese, bagels with cream cheese, grilled cheese sandwich...)
I have days where I'm ok with meat and other days like this entire weekend where I just end up eating the veggies and carbs at dinner. I made pulled pork in the crockpot for the family yesterday and they were raving about it, I couldn't even look at it. Little do they know that tonight we are having pasta with just veggies in it!! Lol

and that's what I said to my girls about the meat.... Maybe it's the small size. Either way, I felt like a champ for eating meat! Haha
