I am a firm believer that a baby won't come until their name is picked. I am nearing my due date (3/20) of my second child. My husband and I did not find out what we were having with either this baby or our first. With our first we had a boy and named him John Christopher III but he goes by Cash (neither John I or John II go by John). We picked out a girl name while pregnant with him and we both are still in love with our girl name but we cannot agree on a boy name. We don't (or I don't) want a popular name-my name is Ashley which was the number 2 name of the year I was born and several years before and after that and hated having a ton of Ashley's in my classes.I have looked all over, read different name boards on here, books, websites, ect for a name but nothing has popped. We are also trying to not repeat names of living relatives on either side of our families. I have 22 first cousins about 25 second cousins and my husband has about 35 first cousins and just as many second cousins. We have a couple names we like:
Easton (worried its becoming too popular)
Gage
Parker
Aspen
Garth
Kellogg (its my husband's grandpa's middle name but my husband is worried about him being called Kelly)
We have no middle name picked either. I'd like to use my maiden name (Neumann) as the middle name but I'm not sure if my husband is on board with that. Our last name is Dates.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!! Thank you so much!!
Re: need help with a boy name
Almost all of those names sound really fussy to me but my kid's going to be a Samuel so my taste is definitely geared towards more classic names. Easton and Aspen just sound like prep school fodder and while I know and love a Parker it is definitely getting very popular.
Garth is lovely!
Kellogg I only think of the cereal and Garth just makes me think of Garth brooks..LOL.
