Sore throat spray?

Ive gone all week with a super sore throat and so far just tried hot tea and cough drops but nothing helped. Today i called my OB who said try whatever i normally would (medication wise)but obviously no more than recommended. Im 6wk3days and i finally broke down to taking Tylenol and bought a throat spray (phenol). The pharmacists said "should be ok", some websites say fine others say no! Anyone else ever used this while pregnant? Or any other recommendations?! Im down to my last nerve with this!!

I use mother risk to figure out if things are safe to take during pregnancy. It's a Canadian website, based out of sick children's in Toronto but it's pretty darn helpful. Here is the link to what their study on treating colds says.

This might sound odd, but warm water mixed with Jello mix (either flavored or not) works great for sore throats. The Jello coats it and relieves the sore feeling.
