I'd take the person you'll want/need the most support from. I took my husband, but it's also fairly common for women to bring mom, MIL, friend, sister, etc.
My husband didn't come, he thought everyone would be taking out their boobs lol. But it was actually really informative about how to hold the baby the right way, get the baby to latch and keeping track of how much your baby is eating. (Not one boob shown! I made sure to let him know!). But I would have liked him there.
My husband is also coming with me. I have heard that just being there goes a long way for getting the men-folk to understand the challenges of breastfeeding, which in turn can translate into more and better support when us ladies are actually trying to do it.
Last pregnancy, DH came with me. He actually found it more helpful than the birthing class (which I could have taught as a FTM and was a waste of our money).
Such a good idea to take your partner with you. I see many mommas roll through LLL whose hubby puts on the pressure for bottles and formula. It's hard to believe in yourself when your partner doesn't know how breastfeeding works and how to best support you as a nursing mom. It's important to be a united front on the big stuff, and how you feed and nurture your baby is one of those things.
