Doctor prescribed prenatal vitamins making me horribly ill

So I had been taking Vitamin Code Raw Prenatals for around 8 months and I love them! They didn't make me ill once I got pregnant, and they were easy to take. Now that my gyno saw I was having twins, she prescribed me these prenatals that I have to take 1 hour before a meal or 2-3 hours after a meal. Problem is, the moment I get an empty tummy, I start getting really REALLY ill. So everyday I've taken them, they've made me feel like a walking pile of garbage. She also prescribed me an extra 1mg of folic acid, which is wonderful, but I can't take taking something that makes me feel so much worse everyday. Anyone go through this? What would/did you do?

Call your OB and ask if there's anything else you can take. Don't make any changes to the medications they are prescribing without their guidance.

What if you take it before you go to bed? I agree with PP to call your OB and discuss your concerns.

Taking them at bed makes a huge difference usually

Whelp, called and left a message at 8:30am and no return call. I hope they call tomorrow, I hate these things. I'll take your advice, and try taking them at night. It's just hard not eating 2-3 hours before bedtime, cause then I wake up with hunger pains/nausea in the morning or middle of the night.

Try the prenatal gummies without iron! I could not handle the vitamins with high iron my first pregnancy. Good luck mamma!

So they called me back! The nurse asked me what vitamins I was taking before, and then while I was on the phone, I listened to her google them...Long story short, she said that they were good prenatals and I could go back to taking them! They also prescribed me diclegis to help with the vomiting. Thanks for all the advice ladies!

You do not have to stay on dr prenatal many people have had own prenatal and did better. I would take additional folic acid though.

Yeah I'm back on my old prenatals Vitamin Code RAW Prenatals. I got prescribed 1mg of extra folic acid, so now I'm taking 2mg total. Feeling MUCH better!

Are you her OB? Giving advice to not have to stay on a doctor ordered prenatal is not appropriate.
