I am a FTM, so no actual experience, but it seems pretty useless. I imagine that, as the mom of a boy, I'm inevitably going to get peed on no matter what.
Not having a boy myself, but most people I know who have didn't get them. They just covered with a diaper mid change and it did the same thing. I guess if you don't want to waste a diaper they might be useful...
Completely useless. We had them with my son and it is significantly easier to use the diaper as a pee shield. In the time it takes to get it in place you're likely covered in pee already.
Just one more thing to clean. Its simpler to have the new diaper ready before you take the old one off and put it on front to back. We have always flipped the diaper inside out first so that it curls back around his body quickly and the ruffles are out automatically without a lot of fuss. Eta, that's a DH trick...I can't take credit for it and it's saved us a lot of pee wiping.
Useless! And @kbrands7 suggestion is what we do too. My husband lives dangerously and doesn't cover at all, but you'll figure out a method that works best for you. I haven't been peed on in ages.
Eta: I never thought I would write that last sentence.
My friend gave us some that she used with her boy, but I don't know if I'll actually end up using them. I've always just done the new diaper trick as other people have mentioned.
They were just projectiles really. I thought maybe my son just had a super powerful stream, but even if I got the teepee in place before he peed (which almost never happened!) it would shoot off like a rocket when he did finally let loose. It was actually pretty hilarious. But seriously, we would just have a cloth diaper or wipe at the ready to toss over while getting the diaper in place. It is pretty immediate that once that little member hits the air, it is all systems go for a full stream.
I've heard to use a burp cloth but I like @LondontoSavannah's idea of a wipe, those are always handy while changing a diaper and much cheaper than wasting a diaper!
@laurenmdrn16 What you wrote totally made my morning! I'm thinking about telling my husband about their projectile power, but have a feeling that he'd be even more excited to try it out!
I was actually wondering about this, too. We put a couple on our registry but I don't know if we will actually use them if we get them. STMs, if they pee in the new diaper that you are using, do you have to start all over again?

I didn't. Good diapers are super absorbent and usually the changing stream is just a small one from being cold.
Not going to lie, I did not expect this thread to be hilarious, but now I'm trying to keep myself from crying with laughter in the coffee shop I'm grading in...
It made a list of most useless baby items I was reading, but it does actually seem like a useful thing to have if you've got a boy.
Any experience with these?
completely useless. I got them as a gag gift at my first sons shower and tried them out. It's so much easier just to put the top of the diaper up to cover him than trying to find a tee pee and have it stay on the baby as he's wiggling.

Yes! We tried them for a while with DS and it would go flying across the room We ended up just laying a wipe across him and it worked so much better. One thing I wish I had known with little boys and diapers though, make sure you point everything down into the new diaper! We totally managed to have a pee shower up and out of the top of a diaper once right after I had changed him
I'm having a girl, but I told my husband (this was before we found out what we were having) that if we had a boy I was going to angle it up while getting the diaper ready so if he peed it would be on him and not me lol
Ladies thank you for this thread! My husband sooooooo wanted to get these and as some who daily changes adult diapers (yes not the same but the cognitively impaired can be just as unpredictable!) I could not see a reason why! So thankfully aside from him finding the shooting across the room hilarious he had conceeded that it is maybe not practical. Thank you thank you thank you.
I would like to let everyone know that it's not just boys. We have 2 girls and my husband and I had been peed on so many times. Just use a wipe to cover and maybe you'll get lucky.
This is a little weird, but I told my DH to look up pee pee tee pees and ask if he wanted them. To make me laugh he looked up pee pee tee pee porn- turns out it's a really old racist guy in the Amazon has sex in his hut porn. so...we're not gunna buy the tee pees.
Re: Pee-pee tepees?

I just used a wipe as a shield, much more effective.
