Babies: 9 - 12 Months

The current Nest-drama is making me feel old.

Yesterday 0-6 seems to have experienced some kind of implosion.  Last night and today I don't have a hell of a lot going on since DH is working and all of my IRL buddies are attending firmly booze based activities so I thought, "Hey!  I'll read through some of the drama!  It's a lo-cal kind of guilty pleasure..."

There were so many people in chat last night I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on and damn near had a seizure from the rapid-fire scrolling.  So after figuring out that some people were really mad at some other people - some of whom apparently used to be Nest-friends but are now bitter Nest-emies - and this all apparently compelled droves of people to confess their AEs on the Nest I gave up and went to bed early.

This morning I tried to scroll back through 0-6 in order to distract myself from the incredibly annoying cacophony that is DD's FP Laugh and Learn cookie jar.  I read through a couple of posts, still didn't get the "whys" behind any of it, then saw that CNN was covering the naming ceremony of the George H.W. Bush aircraft carrier so watched that instead.

My IRL friends are out sipping champagne in swanky bars that DD's fake ID totally doesn't pass muster in.  Many of my Imaginary Computer Friends are engaging in some cyber-drama that is too fast paced and technologically advanced for me to follow.  And I'm at home alone giving myself an anti-aging facial, watching CNN, and listening to "shapes are in my cookie jar."

Dude.  I'm old.  I wish the anti-aging facial kit came with Youthful Coolness Inducing Enzymes.

  • I felt old because I really couldn't care less about any of that nonsense.  Seriously, if you have time with a baby to create an ALTER EGO to attack other moms, maybe you should reevaluate your life a bit.  Maybe spend a bit more time with your kid, your husband, your job, your home, yourself.. just a thought!

    What a bunch of loons.

  • I've been hoping that my friends accidently get pg so they can have babies too, for the past year. So far it hasn't happened. Sigh.

    I feel your pain!

  • You're post made me laugh...and made me feel good that I'm not the only one who thinks the whole 'drama' nonsense is ridiculous.

As for the cookie jar...ours seems to have a mond of it's own, and yells out randomly...freaks the dog out!

Oh...and I totally agree with City!

  • I'm right there with you. I nearly had an aneurysm last night reading through the posts and trying to figure everything out. At one point I asked myself why I was putting so much effort into it, so I closed my laptop and went to bed.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Although in place of loons, I would have chosen DumbA'es !

  • Agree but it sounds like one of the posters of the AE has/had some serious mental issues.

    I agree 100%!

  • If it makes you feel any better I'm working and trying to occupy DD's time with Mrs Spider Sunny Patch and ALL her toys.  She loses interest easily.  Now she's pissed and wants to bang on mommy's computer.

    sigh.

    :)

  • Your post is one of the funniest things I've read all week.  Love it!  Now I know why my Mom said the 70s are a blur for her - not because of any kind of fun escapades of youthfulness, but because she was so busy raising her kids.

  • I don't like to get involved with all that drama!  They have way too much time on their hands. They must not be fulfilled with their own lives. Too bad for them. :(
  • *nods in agreement*. Mmmmhm.
  • I totally understand and am clueless right along with you girl, except my background music is bouncing out of a Jumparoo.

    Glad your back?

  • Thank you Larkster! This is precisely why I rarely visit the nest anymore...I dont have time for this shiiit, or the interest.

And our farking cookie jar stays at my mom's house, as well as any other singing contraptions that drive me bonkers.

  • yeah, i spetn about 5 minutes trying to make sense of it last nite and then went to bed to snuggle with dd. but my irl friends are sucking pretty bad right now too.

as for feeling old... i'm turning 31 this year... gah!

  • It's insane. Seriously? ?who has time for that? ?ITA with your post, you're not the only one feeling old ;)

May I suggest replacing their BC with tic tacs?  It worked for my husband.
