My husband and I are leaving for Uganda this may when our baby will be 3 months old and staying for 2 months doing mission work. What are the essentials we need for traveling? We will be on two 9 hour plane rides and more than likely will be formula feeding due to his food allergies. I'm trying to come up with a packing list but I don't want to miss anything.
Also, any advice for flying with an infant?
Re: Traveling for 2 months with baby
Also that is good advice about the sterilizer. That would make it easier to clean them
Other things: meds for baby (Tylenol, gripe water, gas drops, saline drops, electrolyte powder, etc), a carrier that would work well for the temperature, and lots of antibacterial type wipes, like wet ones, particularly for the plane.
Im sorry I have no suggestions. What is the diaper situation going to be? Cloth or disposable? If cloth, do you have to worry about detergent? If disposable, what sort of brands are available to you? Do you have to bring your own? Special sanitation precautions? (I know some countries don't allow you to throw away baby fecal waste in landfills due to water supply issues so you have to pre-clean diapers in a grey water system before disposal)
btw, thank you for making me feel much more normal. My in laws are going crazy over the fact that we have a 1 week trip planned for Florida to let my birth mom meet baby when she is 3 months. I thought it would be the only reasonable time to travel until baby is much older... Like 18yrs older.
