Infertility

Hello Everyone....Newbie Here

Good morning everyone :)

I just wanted to introduce myself. New to this site and “sorta” new to the process.

I am 34 years old, and in 10 short days I will begin doing bloodwork for the second time.  About a year and a half ago, my hubby and I went for an initial consult to see Dr. Sipe and FCI in Chicago and loved it!!

Why has it taken so long??? Because my husband travels like a mad man! From the time we had our consult to this last consult he has been home 100 days :/, I had surgery for chronic migraines, etc etc etc…….So with a little luck and hope we are ready to finally get this done and hopefully get a treatment plan from Dr. Sipe.  Were just hoping it is not to late for us.

Any suggestions? I don’t have my exact numbers, but after reading through a lot of the posts I feel like I need to request records.  All I can remember is that my FSH and AMH was low. When they did the SIS all the doctor could see was 5 follicles and my estrogen was low.

My hubby is good to go other than low mobility, but they put him on CoQ10….

Any suggestions, thoughts……advice??? It would be much appreciated.

  • Thank you, I appreciate it! I think my problem is I work in the legal field so doing research is my thing! So I keep trying to find answers. I guess I should follow what I tell my clients which is, no matter how similar something may seem every case is different so keep an open mind! We are def ready to hit the road running this time, I only wish my hubs would understand things are timed.

  • Welcome! Definitely bring a list of questions and don't be afraid to ask "What does that mean?" I'm sure my docs and nurses just roll their eyes now, but I love having details and feeling confident about my next steps. You could ask your doc what you can do to improve your numbers. We brought in a list of all the medications we take (vitamins, whey protein, etc.), life habits (workouts, hobbies, jobs) and things like that, showed it to the doc and asked if there was anything we should change, add, or delete to improve our health and odds.
I'm sorry your hubby travels all the time, that's gotta be hard! But I'm glad you are getting ready to get the ball rolling! Keep positive, invest in some hobbies that make you feel good about yourself, and just try to enjoy the ride! God bless and FX for you!

  • Hi and welcome!
I should know my numbers, but I don't. Have them in an email, my doctor knows them, and I've got my plan. I did know them when I started, then after all the hormones, appointments, follicle count, lining tickness those numbers were out of my head

    GL on your journey.
Listen to your body is my biggest advice, as this journey demands a lot from it, you better listen and take a break to do just nothing when you need it. If that means laying on the sofa and watch Netflix a whole weekend, do it. If that means breakfast lunch and dinner in bed, do it.

@ADRIANAC1982 Welcome!! I know what you mean about all the numbers, it's overwhelming! My advise is to make sure you trust your Doctor and like everyone said don't be afraid to ask a lot. I am also a researcher by nature and I feel like sometimes I maybe guilty of not asking because I think I can found out on my own which is super silly because that's what they are there for!
I try to take notes, and have also recorded some of the consultations on my phone ( please ignore this if it's illegal lol) it really helps, as much as I think i'm understanding everything, when I play it back there's always a bunch of details that completely went over my head.
P.s: it's not too late  wish you the best
