Intro - First pregnancy & loss TW

Hi ladies,

My name is Shae and I'm new to this board. On 2/17, at 9 weeks 6 days, I learned at my ultrasound that the baby stopped growing 3 weeks earlier. I opted to wait for my body to naturally miscarry, which it finally began to do 3 days ago. It's been intense and painful at times, but after an emotional week, I'm feeling at peace with it and am looking forward to my body recovering.

This was my first pregnancy after only one month of trying. Although my husband and I have been married for 7 years, we were always lukewarm about the idea of children, and throughout my pregnancy, I wasn't overly excited. Part of me knew I shouldn't get my hopes up. But now that we've experienced this loss, I know (without a doubt) that I want to experience a healthy pregnancy and motherhood.

We're not going to try again until late summer, for a couple of reasons. I know August will be here before I know it, but I'm dreading the long wait. I know many of you are actively TTC now, or as soon as you are physically able to, but I hope you don't mind me hanging around here with you.

So sorry that you have to be here. But absolutely welcome, laugh, cry, celebrate, with us. If you haven't found it already, I found the miscarriage and pregnancy loss board to be helpful also when I experienced my loss.

I am sorry for your loss, but glad you found us. I so relate to your statement that you now know what you want. My husband and I had a similar experience. Fingers crossed we will both (all) get there soon!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and sweet words. I've found the pregnancy loss board to be quite helpful as well, but it's very comforting to be here where you're all looking forward to the future. It's a long tunnel ahead, but I know there is light at the end of it.

I'm sorry for your loss. I also felt lukewarm/not overly excited during my pregnancy and I was convinced I was going to MC but since the loss, I recognize how much I want to be a mother.
You're definitely welcome here. I lurk through other boards but really like the support this specific group provides.
