Re: Tuesday Ticker Change

  • Week/Size:  35/coconut.  35 days to go!

Symptoms:  Intermittent heartburn, feet hurt if I'm on them too long.

Upcoming Appointments:  36w on 3/8 plus u/s to determine placement of baby and discuss if I'm a candidate for ECV.

Rants/Raves:  on the plus side I've gotten most of the stuff I ordered from my registries.  I ordered some woodland prints from etsy and they are ridiculous adorable.  I can't wait to frame them and put in nursery.

Rant:  our division had some massive layoffs yesterday.  I unfortunately knew quite a few of them people let go.  Corporate America can be pretty brutal.  One of IT guys let go was the only source of knowledge for a project I am working on.  Everything is now in limbo.

    Questions:  none today

GTKY:  I've purchased most of what I need for baby but definitely need to organize everything and make a nursing nook in our bedroom.  I've also got to dig out car seat and put cover back on.  We also need to get Mamaroo and rock and play back from husbands co-worker and pack hospital bags.  New target date is 37w.

  • Week/Size: 33/durian

Symptoms: tired, mild swelling has begun, lightning crotch is a daily occurrence, hips are starting to hurt more. I guess mostly just general uncomfort is setting in

Upcoming Appointments: next Friday for my regularly scheduled 5min appointment.

    Rants/Raves:
Rave: Nursery will be 100% done come Thursday when my chair arrives!

Sort of rant: Nesting is setting in big time and I'm tending to overdo it on the weekends. I'm going to start trying to give myself one manageable task to do each day. Today's task is finish lining dresser drawers.

Definite Rant: DH is going smart house crazy and really it's not money we need to be spending right now. Do I like that 90% of our lights and ceiling fans can be voice controlled by Siri, of course. Is it a necessity...I think not. He had to modify an existing HomeKit program to get everything to work together and spends time doing that instead of helping around the house which annoys me too. Then yells at me for doing too much, but I'm the only one doing most of it!

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here? I have to fold and put away an insane amount of baby clothes, DH needs to repaint our changing station dresser topper, infant car seat needs to be pulled out cleaned and installed, pull out the bassinet, general whole house clean. I'm guessing we should buy some diapers at some point too.

  • Week/Size: 32/squash

Symptoms: Burping, heartburn, lungs/stomach feeling compressed. But PUPPPs is virtually gone, so it could be worse.

Upcoming Appointments: Friday for 8-month scan, can't wait to see him.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: Already feeling uncomfortable sitting for long periods at work and in the car, which is not good because I have a 1.5-2 hour total commute each day and I'll be working until my due date.

Rave: my sister and her family are coming to visit on Saturday for a week! They haven't been here since 2010. My nephew has not forgotten that five years ago I promised him a helicopter ride over Mont Blanc the next time he comes to see me...  :D

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here? Just bought the car last weekend and the nursery is set up, so all of the major stuff is done. My sister is bringing a big bag of kit that I left at her house in January, and I have to sort through that. Other remaining stuff to do: make curtains, get a breast  pump, make sleepytime playlists, practice with the carseat/baby wraps/stroller, get hospital bag ready.

@sprocketsngadgets my sweetie has been home-geeking too, although our house is not yet controlled by siri - I won't mention that possibility to him!
  • Week/Size: 32/ squash

Symptoms: General discomfort of 3rd trimester. Overall feeling like a beached whale, and swelling has set in.

Upcoming Appointments: I have my 34 week checkup in 2 weeks

Rants/Raves: My job is piling on the workload right now, I think they are trying to make sure that I earn my maternity leave. The problem is that I've already checked out and am basically present physically but not mentally present and I really wish we were in transition mode.

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here? Pretty much everything. We have all the nursery furniture ordered and with the exception of the chair, it's all in boxes collecting dust in the living room. I hope the nesting bug hits one of us soon!
  • Week/Size: 34/squash

    Symptoms: tired, swollen, irritable

Upcoming Appointments: a class tomorrow's throw and apt in two weeks.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: laid in bed sweating my balls off last night and got all of about an hour of sleep. Thankfully DH fixed the AC this morning (something chewed through some wiring outside) but my whole day has been messed up because of my sleep deprivation.

Rave: I got a bunch of material super cheap over the last couple of days; enough to make myself four swaddle blankets and another four for a gift to a coworker's wife who is due early June, plus enough fat quarters and Minky fabric to make about 40 burp rags. Ooh, and hobby lobby had a sale on what seemed like everything to match LO's room.

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here?
I want to find a dresser to upcycle/paint but I can't find one I like for a reasonable price. Why would I pay $200 for a crappy dresser that I'm going to have to fix and paint anyway? Other than that, I just have a few sewing projects like pnp sheets and burp rags that are more want than need.
  • Week/Size: 35... only two more weeks and baby won't be a preemie.... that thoughi is freaking me out a bit.

Symptoms: Morning nausea is back! Restless sleep/discomfort.

Upcoming Appointments: I have one next week between school getting out at 2:45 and conferences starting at 5:30. My dr's office is about a half hour from my work, so it's going to be a tight squeeze time-wise, but it's one of my last appointments with my regular OB so I don't want to reschedule.

Rants/Raves: My boss is screwing up all my plans at work by poaching the sub I have had lined up for months to fill another position. Now I have one month to find a new sub, imtroduce him/her to the curriculum, and teach him/her to use the two different online programs used in the classes I teach. I hope my boss has some kind of plan for helping me find a new person because last time it was just completely up to me, and now they have yanked that person away and left me scrambling.

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here? (Only counting the at-home stuff because work can figure their own junk out... I am feeling pretty bitter.)
    - prep DD's big girl room  (move junk out, paint it pink, fix a window, move her stuff in... I would like to get her a new dresser and bookshelf/storage too but that hasn't happened yet)
    - wash newborn clothes
    - pack hospital bag
    - attach co-sleeper to my bed (move nightstand-shelf away so baby doesn't have cords near her)
    - install car seat bases in each car
    kids with flags
  • Week/Size: Almost 35 weeks, so that'll be a coconut...fun!

Symptoms: heartburn at night. every time I stand up a feel like I'm about to pee my pants, but when I sit on the toilet to pee, I no longer need to.

Upcoming Appointments: Friday with ObGyn, they're hoping to confirm he's positioned correctly. He was a week and a half ago, so hopefully he didn't flip back out of it!

Rants/Raves: Rave: our neighborhood's 'buy nothing' group has been awesome in getting so much for free. I think we've purchased one onsie so far and I have enough clothes for him for the next year!

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here? Nothing! I am probably way too relaxed about this one. In theory, we have everything we need to care for a newborn...a car seat, a place to sleep, food, warmth, and lots of love! We do not however have an actual nursery for the baby...DH is trying to finish out the basement to move the laundry room down there to turn the laundry room into a nursery...I don't see this completing before the baby comes though, so I'm ok with that. The house is also a complete mess, but I don't think our infant will judge us too much on that one ;)

Symptoms: pelvic gertle pain, acid reflux, exhausted yet unable to sleep at night, oh and always hungry.

Upcoming Appointments: March 9th. Our anniversary

Rants/Raves: this app frustrates me when it deletes half of what I type everytime.

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here?
i ordered the crib bedding so once that's here I should be ready to go! Oh except diapers. I should get some of those.
  • Week/Size: 34/ butternut squash

Symptoms:  carpal tunnel, SPD, emotional, tired

Upcoming Appointments: 34 week check up earlier today

Rants: I've been waiting since December for the nursery furniture to be ready, was told 3 weeks ago that I would have it in 2 weeks. Last week they told
me another 2 weeks. I know I don't "need" the nursery furniture right away, I just want it!!

Raves: DH has truly been amazing and so supportive, he stayed home with me the other night when o wasn't feeling well instead of going out for guys night.

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here?
my shower is in a week 1/2 so once I get the gifts I'll really get to work organizing. Right now I have all the clothes and blankets that I bought washed (I think I went a little overboard
  • Week/Size: 33/durian

Symptoms: tired, sore and heartburn like 80% of the day.

Upcoming Appointments: today and then the 17th for 35 week labs

Rants/Raves: I'm just tired. All the time. Half the time I don't even want to get up and go to work. Not to mention the random pain that is running from my ankle to my hip in my right leg all the time

    Questions:

GTKY:  What do you have left on your to-do list before baby gets here? I've got my baby shower on Saturday so whatever didn't get bought for that will have to get bought afterwards. We need to get a mattress and move the crib. (It's in our room but there's not enough space. And we've gotta finish cleaning and packing away whatever can get packed away and sent back down with bf'so dad for storage. And then whatever else I have some how forgotten to get done.
