Just trying to get some ideas.....does anyone make "meal" shakes throughout the day? I've made them in the past using just fruit, veggies, yogurt, milk and ice. I'm most curious about some of the protein powders out there. My boss is SUPER into shakes and makes a choc, apple, peanut butter one almost daily. Are they safe? A good suggestion? I'm obviously not looking to use them for weight loss, but I figure there's got to be a healthy way to incorporate them into my diet to get in more fruits and veggies!! I'm thinking of having one after breakfast, but before lunch.
*We have a Vitamix at work, so I can use any ingredients mentioned!
Re: Meal Shakes
My doctor told me protein power/protein shakes (shakes made with the powder) were fine. I brought it up when I mentioned trying to find ways to get more protein in my diet.
I sometimes have a shake for breakfast, but that's the only meal I replace with them. Other than that its more of a snack/dessert option.

My everyday go-to ingredients are:
- one frozen banana
- one cup coconut water or unsweetened almond milk
- two handfuls spinach

From there, I add one frozen fruit like mango, blueberries, pineapple depending on my mood. I've also done canned pumpkin with cinnamon which is a nice fall treat!

Just curious @Lindsayleigh1989Your doctor said to go ahead with shakeology?? Every doctor I've talked to and everything I have read says not to use it during pregnancy Because some of the ingredients can cause miscarriage. I do Beachbody programs and definitely don't use shakeology now. I use a product called Vega One- All in One Nutritinal Shake, completely plant based and no harmful ingredients according to my OB and 20 g of protein. It's similar to @jlmartinez517 Garden of Life.
....shit, sorry, that's milkshake, not meal shake.
My bad.

Otherwise I'm a huge fan of smoothies for dessert, like peanut butter, yogurt, almond milk, banana and cocoa powder.
