Tips for nausea

I'm currently 6w6d I'm ALWAYS nauseous. Sun up to sun down, only thing that keeps me from throwing up is laying down. Having 2 kids laying down all of the time isn't an option, so does anyone have any suggestions to help morning sickness??

  • Use the search function on the board. You'll find a ton of threads with some really great advice on them.
  • Loading the player...
  • Sea bands offer some relief
Sour jolly ranchers and Perrier carbonated water were the only things that helped me last time
Warm water (not cold) with lemon or lime in it

If you get to the point where you can't drink anything or eat very little without vomiting-- talk to your provider about zofran or another nausea medication. You can get dehydrated or malnourished very quickly.

  • Everyone's different, but here's what helps me:
    • I snack throughout the day as opposed to eating full meals.
    • Jolly Ranchers
    • Careful selection of food (lots of fruit, yogurt, and carbs --- nothing super flavorful)
    Hope you feel better soon!
  • The only thing that helped my was constant snacking. If even for a second I felt hungry I'd get nauseated and if I ever ate a full sized meal I'd throw up. It was a delicate balance.
Keep an eye on how much you're able to eat and drink, if it gets really bad definitely talk to your OB. There's no reason to suffer, especially if it gets to be a health concern for you and baby.
  • Seltzer water!!! The lemon lime is my favorte because it takes like watered down sprite. It makes me burp a lot but I've found it helps
  • Don't let yourself get hungry. I ate All The Carbs :)
  • Thank you! I have noticed if I even get a little hungry it escalates soo bad! I'll try snacking throughout the day on fruits and light foods and see if it helps :)
  • I woke up this morning and ate some bread right away and that seemed to help, but I started feeling crappy again by the afternoon. I'm struggling too. What works one day does not the next. Ugh.
  • It depends how bad it is, I couldn't even go to work or leave the washroom for more than 20 mins. If you live in Canada I highly recommend diclectin! It has saved my life.
  • I'm just over seven weeks and I feel sick all the time. This morning I couldn't even keep down ginger ale and crackers. It's exhausting and I'm having a really hard time getting through work.
  • Getting outside for fresh air, altoids/peppermint hard candy, lemon hard candies, lemonade, curling up in a ball on the bathroom floor and crying.
