Re: weekly health & fitness check-in (2/29)

  • Fitness goal? Get my butt to the gym. Last week my excuse was I was really busy, I need to kick the excuses this week. Kickboxing tomorrow, yoga Saturday, gym 3 other times plus walk everyday at lunch.

Health goal? I haven’t been hungry at all and then when I do eat an actual meal it is not remotely healthy. I’m cutting myself some slack for now. I haven’t meal planned in weeks and didn’t make it to the grocery this weekend. I guess my goal for this week is to eat some fruits and vegetables. Oh, to those who are nauseous, green apples have been helpful and are healthy!

Challenges you’re facing this week? Exhaustion, as usual. As well as on and off nausea.

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window? On a daily basis my kitchen window is boring: a pond, trees, and construction in our neighborhood. We live in the burbs but in an area that is a little “country.” I have seen some random wildlife including: snapping turtle, coyote, fox, deer, hawks, and one day a horse ran through our yard!

Fitness goal? Go to all my regular classes and add some jogging here and there.

Health goal? My health goal last week was to find a pregnancy diet plan and implement it, but I thought all the plans I found were unreasonable, so I canned that idea. This week, the plan is to eat more vegetables. I do well with fruits and lean proteins, but no so much with veggies  :/

Challenges you’re facing this week? DH will be out of town Wednesday-Friday, so I'll be tempted to get take-out instead of cooking for 1 those days. Maybe I can hit up some vegetable lo mein???  :#

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window? We don't have a kitchen window, but with our open floor plan, I can see out of our living room window from the kitchen. The most "interesting" thing to see there is a rebel flag flying in our ignorant back neighbor's yard. It was almost a deal breaker in purchasing that particular lot to build on. Thankfully, their house is up for sale. I'm thinking the chances of it staying up with new owners is slim.

  • Fitness goal? I started training for my 4th half marathon before I found out I was pregnant and I still hope to run it.  I changed my training plan and I'm taking it easy on my runs so I think this will be possible.

Health goal? Stick with a good diet and exercise.  I'm hoping to avoid gestational diabetes this time around...

Challenges you’re facing this week?  I wish it was not so cold/windy out - I prefer running outside!

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window? Tons and tons of geese!  Sometimes deer too.  We have a park across the street from our house

  • Fitness goal? Pilates and squats errrry day! It's not going to get any easier!

Health goal? Focusing on eating nutrient dense foods

Challenges you’re facing this week? Nausea.  I lost 4 lbs in the past two weeks unintentionally, I just can't really manage to eat much.  I'm trying to make what I do eat count, including blending up some healthy shakes for breakfast.  Today was banana, almond butter, avocado, and vanilla whey protein.  Tomorrow I'm going for some pumpkin with cinnamon, vanilla, and walnuts.

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window? My heated pool, all covered up.  We bought the house from a 94 year old so we've never actually seen it opened.  (comeonsummer!!!)

  • Fitness goal? Keep at it!! The gym that is. I feel so tired after work during the week. Mostly I have been working out on the weekends only. This upcoming Saturday I will be running/walking my first ever half marathon

    Health goal? Eat better

Challenges you’re facing this week?my LO has strep and ear infection

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window? I don't have a kitchen window. But if I did I would see into my neighbors front room = creepy

  • Fitness goal?  I've slipped a little this week I want to get back into it and continue to work on my push ups and 5k time!

Health goal?  I need to kick some of these sweet cravings and start eating healthier!!

Challenges you’re facing this week? My hubs and I are so busy this week and I didn't have time to prep any lunches this weekend so I was already bad tonight and had pasta

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window?  I don't have a kitchen window...

  • Fitness goal? To workout 5 days a week.

Health goal? To eat reasonably and not snack.

    Challenges you’re facing this week?

My gym is in the process of going out of business and they cut half their classes. I already paid for this month, so I have to finish out with this BS.

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window?

I always see herds of deer on my lawn. It shocks people when they come over, but I'm used to it.

  • Fitness goal? Continue with alternating yoga, elliptical, and walking the dogs at least 5-6 days this week.

Health goal? Watch my portion sizes and check-in with my hunger cues during meals.   Since I am snacking a lot more than usual, I end up feeling less hungry during meals, but sometimes I eat the amount I usually do just because it's there.

Challenges you’re facing this week?  As usual, the crushing fatigue lol.  If I work out or walk the dogs right away after work it's okay, but once I sit down on the couch, forget it!  Also, I feel SO HUNGRY all of the time, ever couple of hours I get these intense, gnawing hunger pangs.

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window?  I live in suburbia, so nothing very interesting.  Trees, squirrels, and my dogs?

Weekly Bumpie Challenge: Take the stairs if/when possible I just got my new (used) mommy car woohoo!  It's in fantastic condition, so I'm a little paranoid about it.  I'll probably be parking at the back of parking lots and walking a long ways for awhile.  Good exercise, right!?

  • Fitness goal? Get back to my classes this week (one strength, one cardio, one bootcamp, one yoga), especially since I got the thumbs up from my doc. Last week I felt absolutely terrible and missed everything. Yesterday I made my strength training class and felt fantastic after, so hopefully this pattern continues. (Of course, since feeling terrible has been the norm lately, not feeling terrible had me freaking out a little, because obviously that is logical.)

Health goal? Just try to get some fruits and vegetables in. Last week all I could handle was bland carbs. After class last night I had scrambled eggs with chopped peppers, and didn't want to wretch at the sight and smell, so again, here is hoping that pattern continues.

Challenges you’re facing this week? Fatigue and nausea.

GTKY: What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your kitchen window? Sometimes the neighborhood hawk sits in a tree out back, but usually all I can see is my idiot neighbor failing at snow removal and other home improvement/yardwork projects.
