Hi my names Sara. I want to start by saying am not asking for someone to confirm if I am pregnant or not. I also am not looking to be judged. I have had bad experiences posting with responses from snarky people in the past. I am simply hoping to hear from someone who's been through this before and help me understand because I am new to charting etc.. (I use the OVIA app & have read everything there is to read about what I should be doing and Im doing it). I have been off my birth control since September (which I was on for about 10 yrs). My husband and I have been TTC since I went of it. I did have trouble with AF in November so I went to OBGYN she put me on progesterone? to reset my cycle. The next cycle came normally & I had gotten positive ovulation test in January (01/06/16). AF arrived (01/21-01/26). I then "spotted" ? (02/03-02/05). Although I havent been taking ovulation tests daily the ones I have taken this month have come back negative. I also have still not gotten AF which makes a 40 day cycle. I took a pregnancy test 02/08 & 02/28 both negative. Ive been charting my BBT before I get out of bed every morning I dont have the BBT thermometer yet but am getting one today so I have just been using a regular thermometer. My chart would probably be considered erratic. Ive also had a variety of CM all month. Other things ive noticed have been nausea, emotional, lack of appetite, sensitivity to smells and lightheaded. The last two concern me the most because first of all Im a dog groomer and allergic to everything I am getting allergy shots every month and I still cant really smell anything unless its something really gross but now I smell perfumes etc.... Doctor says the shots will not affect TTC/Pregnancy. Secondly being lightheaded and grooming dogs is scary (Before you freak out: I always stop what Im doing when I feel that way I never groom if I feel I unstable; also im trying to find a better job because even though I enjoy what I do I dont particularly want to be pregnant and dealing with kicking, pooping, biting clients ), I was anemic years ago but haven't had any issues with fainting since so its odd. Its been really hard not having anyone to talk to about charting etc... everyone I know who has kids has just gotten pregnant on accident. My dr. has done pelvic exam always comes back fine, ive always been healthy never had issues so I dont know I just worry somethings wrong with me. I want to hope that somehow im pregnant but Ive learned that just comes with disappointment. I called the nurse today and she told me to wait it out another month to see what happens. Input , similar experiences would be appreciated.
Thank you for reading my super long post.
Re: 40 day cycle, no period, negative pregnancy test, NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO PLEASE
You can't control how others post and your opening few lines probably rubbed some people (including myself) the wrong way.
If if its been 60+ days give your doc another call and see what they advise, but join the TWW/WTO threads and participate there. If you "know everything" you should have already been using a BBT thermometer and you would know even if you test OPKs daily it's possible to miss a surge.
What at exactly are you asking?
Also QFP. I had a 70+ day cycle. If you're worried about continuing to worry if you are pregnant hold off on sex until your next cycle when you're properly charting.
These are all questions/concerns that can be discussed in daily WTO/TWW threads.
I also went off of BCP in September and have been TTC since then. My periods have not regulated themselves yet either. First cycle off was 31 days, then I had a 32 day cycle, then the next was 49 days. I am currently on CD 66. I know you're very frustrated, it IS super frustrating when you're so ready to track ovulation, but you're AF isn't cooperating. I have an OBGYN appointment in two weeks, so I'm hoping to get some answers then.
My suggestion would be to relax. Honestly. It seems you are really making yourself crazy.
Schedule a doctors appointment if you go past 60 days. Invest the measly $8 in a basal thermometer. Take PNV.
As far as your other medical issues, I would bring it up to your doctor again.
Lastly, read read read. Lurk lurk lurk.
Sorry, I have no more sugar left for coating. Lots of other forums around if you think we're judgey and snarky when we tell you the truth.
Also, if you're not chatting with a BBT, the statement "read everything there is to read about what I should be doing and Im doing it" is completely false.
The BBT recommended in the intro thread (which you clearly didn't read) costs $7. Since September, I have seen it as cheap as $4. That's way cheaper than a whole month of pregnancy tests when you have no clue what your cycle is doing! If you're someone with long cycles, you really can't rely solely on OPKs because a lot of people, like me, will get multiple surges and turn tests positive more than one time over the course of a cycle.
In conclusion, read what the others have advised, read the guides at the top of the boards, and read a bunch of threads for a few days to get a feel for this actually super helpful community. Then shove the holier than thou tone and come participate regularly. Give support just as much or more than you ask for it, and you'll get along just fine.

I'm going to agree with everyone else saying that if you haven't gotten a BFP or a period 60+ days from your last period you may want to call your doctor and get Provera to jump start your period and your next cycle.
Other than just waiting for your period, testing occasionally and contacting your doctor at 60+ days there isn't a lot you can do right now. It's good that you've started temping. It's okay that your temps are rocky. It's pretty common for the first cycle of temping and charting to be a throw-away learning chart. I know my first chart was pretty much useless for anything other than learning purposes. But the next cycle was way better and I was able to see a clear shift for O.
Basically, many of us have experienced what you're experiencing. It's fairly common to have longer cycles after coming off BCPs. I know it's frustrating but hang in there. Most ladies have their cycles start to shorten over time as their bodies adjust to being off BCPs.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Your concerns about smells and nausea sound to me like you might be symptom spotting--which will drive you nuts so try not to give in to that!
I hope you find the camaraderie you are seeking--either here or elsewhere.
