Morning Sickness!

Hi ladies, im only just 4 weeks pregnant and yesterday at an ultrasound we couldn't find bub due to being too tiny right now. This morning i woke up and about an hour into my day I felt stupidly sick and threw up! I've been feeling waves of nausea for about a week but only got sick this one time (so far). Is it waaay to early in my pregnancy to be feeling that way since bub is still undetectable on an ultrasound? Any advice or info would be fantastic :)

Re: Morning Sickness!

  • I'm not sure there's a start or stop time for MS. I never had any and I'm 25 weeks. Yeah, I don't have advice for MS relieve since I didn't have any lol. Sorry.

Just curious, why did you have an ultrasound so early considering you usually can't see much till 6 weeks anyway?

  • I suffer from severe endometriosis and since ectopic pregnancy is more likely my specialist wanted to check how my uterus was changing and find out if he could spot where it was sooner rather than later.
  • Well I hope everything looked great and your MS lightens up! Congrats on your pregnancy!

  • MS is thought to be caused by the hormonal changes in your body, which start as soon as implantation happens. By 3w6d, my HCG was around 150, and doubling daily. I don't think I had nausea until closer to 5 weeks, but everyone is different!
As for remedies, just eat small healthy and protein packed meals throughout the day, as most people feel sicker when they're hungry. Preggy pops (you can get them at Babies R Us) are great. I've also had ginger lemon tea and popsicles (not together though lol).

  • If the morning sickness is really bad and doesn't go away in a few weeks ask your doctor about diclectin. It is a life saver, I couldn't go 20 mins within throwing up and i had to go to the hospital to get fluids. It's not available in the states tho, but it should be! Try some other tricks first but if you really suffering you don't need to! I still feel sick sometimes but it's much more manageable.
  • MS life-savers through 3 pregnancies:

    gingerale
    soda crackers
    pepermint candies
    lemon
    cold water
    sleep.

It's available in the US under a different name, Dicelgis I believe.  It's also just a mix of unisom and B6 so my doctor actually recommended going out and purchasing them separately and gave me doses of each to take because even with my insurance, it's stupidly expensive.

OP, I didn't have any real symptoms until 5.5 weeks but I have heard of some women experiencing symptoms as early as you are.  Everyone's body responds differently to pregnancy so I wouldn't rule out having actual morning sickness already.  Hope you don't have too many issues with it, I had MS from 5.5-19 weeks so I feel your pain.
