What are you making?
Mom and I took a break from the castle quilt (the sewing machine is in the repair shop), so I'm working on this cowl. I started it in October, a few weeks before I found out I'm pregnant, and I haven't touched it since I found out about the baby. But I found a super cute pattern I want to make for him, and it requires my size 3 needles. Which are currently being used on this project. So I finally have motivation to finish it.

What project has been lurking in your craft stash, unfinished, for waaaaaay too long?
I made one sock for my husband last fall. Oops. I swear I'll make the second one soon. As soon as I finish the cowl and the quilt and the cute baby thing that requires size 3 needles?

I'm crazy about Anna Maria Horner's quilt patterns. Especially the one that looks like cool geometric plaid. And they're all free!!!!

What are you making? Finished last week's gifty bag and this week focusing on expanding my cloth diaper stash. I'm making pockets which I just learned to sew last week as well as prefolds and inserts which will be needed since all of our CDs are covers and pockets. Also made one ultra tiny preemie cover just in case- it's adorable but a little sad. I may make a couple more for just in case- here's to hoping we don't need them and get to donate these.

What project has been lurking in your craft stash, unfinished, for waaaaaay too long? My diaper bag... I have huge bag of scraps and a bunch of scrap denim and plans for a selvage scrap and denim diaper bag, but it just seems like such a big project I keep putting it off! Maybe after all the prefolds are done!

Preemie cover and NB pocket

My favorite OS pocket pattern with my favorite fabric that everyone else seems to hate "eggs"

JoAnn's had ORIGINAL 90's TMNT fabric so I had to make some stuff DH would love (this is the bib from the pattern/tutorial above)

These are flannel prefolds. They're what you put on baby's bottom under a cover for anyone still wondering what prefolds/covers are as a cloth diapering option.

My back of the closet project is a 100% slub wool queen size afghan. It is affectionately known as the Armageddon blanket at home now. It is so thick and will be huge. I'm so tempted to call it a day soon but my husband loves it and wants it massive

What are you making?

I pumped out a bunch of drool bibs and burp cloths this weekend. I think next weekend I might start working on piecing together a baby quilt, though I'm not sure on the pattern yet. Thinking a strip quilt? I am also thinking of making some knit wool diaper covers. Anyone have a good pattern for this?

I have a knit blanket that I started in college (so... ten years ago?) that is almost big enough to cover a queen sized bed. It's in the baby's room now on the back of the chair and I might just say fuck it and let it be done. I knit it in squares so I could always have the knitting in my bag for class, so even though I meant to add to it I could call it quits and finished now.

Finished a few more paintings for the nursery

Ended up recovering the chair instead of painting it after hubs saw a chair with chevron print. Also, that's the white, tar-covered ottoman I picked up.

I started a mobile today. I'm making a circle mobile with my Cricut Explore. So far I've only cut the circles and made one strand, but it's on its way.

This is the fruit of my two days off - will be a mobile. I'm thinking with gold string to make it a little more girly. For people that did mobiles, how long did you make the drop? I also wish I would have just sewn the string in because now I have to figure out how to attach it.

Anyway, I mostly use my sewing machine. I have a ton of cut, half-finished clothes for myself that I'm pretty sure will never get done. Woops.

What are you making? I have started too many projects lately. I need to just focus on one thing, finish it, and move on to the next! I've got burp cloths going, a t-shirt rag rug, a mobile base along with the patterns I still have to sketch, and a quiet book. The burp cloths are top priority right now.

What project has been lurking in your craft stash, unfinished, for waaaaaay too long? I don't know if this counts, but I have photo albums. I love being able to look through my books instead of just looking at pics on the computer. I started sorting through my photos last year for more I wanted to print, and now the list has grown to the point where I am super overwhelmed and probably will never order prints. Boo.

@elenabrent This is the most popular pattern for wool diaper dovers on Ravelry. I haven't tried it yet, but it has a lot of different size options, and the reviews on fit are very good, so I have high hopes for it. It's actually the pattern that motivated me to finish that darn cowl.

I think I'm just going to screw a hook into the ceiling above the crib and hang mine from a ribbon. Mine is paper so it will be light. Otherwise, I have no clue how you'd hang it.

I had a snow day today so I made some bandana bibs using scrap fabric I had laying around. I will probably make so many more of these. I think they're so cute!

I meant to ask this same question earlier today too. I realized that we aren't able to screw anything into the wall since we live in an apartment. I saw some mobile arms on amazon but everything I found is musical. @bunkie999 if you find anything or have any ideas let me know!

I'm not much of a help with the mobile question. I had an old Winnie the Pooh mobile lying around and I pulled the characters off and put my own on. It had yellowing from sun fade so I didn't feel bad about painting it black and couldn't have resold it.

I finally made something for our girl! I have been wanting to start organizing and moving furniture for the nursery, but we may or may not be moving in July? So now I am crafting instead.

So I didn't make this but I think it's probably really simple for mobile ideas... I bought it off etsy. I did purchase and paint the letters. WOO me! Here are the cute fabrics I bought which I then butchered while attempting to make burp cloths. WOO me again! Seriously though I cannot seem to sew a corner to save my life...

I love Ana white! Dh made us a console table/tv stand from her plans and its my favorite piece of furniture.

@mnkenned my FIL is a shop teacher so he's constantly making the things I ask for. For my birthday last summer, I got a beautiful 6 ft long desk that has the same x's on the end as your console table. I want to say it was called a farm table on her site? The summer before, he and hubs made a coffee table where the top is shaped as the bat symbol. Because of the obvious issues with sharp corners now, there is talk of turning that into a headboard.

Started some nursery crafts today

It's rainy and the hubby has been away the last two days so this mama is antsy! I'm working on a chalkboard sign for weekly pictures, painting a chicken wire sign white to use as a headband holder (will be using mini clothes pins and adding little white hooks to the bottom) and staining and painting a growth chart. We scored this growth chart at Home Depot a few years ago in Black Friday for $4!!

I used a stain color called "driftwood" since we had that in hand, so mines a little lighter than hers. It was super easy though! I was skeptical about tracing the numbers, but it worked just like the directions.
