Hey ladies, Has anyone gone maternity bra shopping yet? If so what are some good places to go. I think it's time for me. My DD's may have changed to DDD's already lol.
When I was pregnant with my son, i loved the spanx brallelujah (sp?). I think i got it from destination maternity. It was super supportive and front clip. I hope they are still available.
I have a stupid question.... When you guys are purchasing bras for pregnancy, are you buying nursing bras? Part of me is thinking it would be cheaper to buy only nursing bras even when pregnant so that I don't have to buy new bras for nursing. But I don't know how practical that is or how comfy nursing bras are for everyday pregnancy wear.

My mom actually suggested this to me last night when I was complaining about my bra feeling tight.

I purchased nursing bras because I knew I was going to try nursing and didn't want to have to buy two different types of bras. I loved my bras and they lasted a really long time. I got mine from Motherhood Maternity.
Does anyone have suggestions for a good wireless bra? I think Motherhood Maternity has some and I'm planning to go bra shopping soon but just wondering if there are favorites from any stores in particular?
I... bought one cup size up (40DD instead of 40D, which incidentally is easier to find), $10 for 2 at Walmart. Worked super for me. I NEVER wear underwires anyway, so it is the same style as usual.
I tried on a Brallelujah once - I don't know if the sizing is different or what, but it felt like it gave me no support whatsoever. Like, my sports bras (which is all I wear at home) are much more supportive than it was.
Not really about maternity bras, but new bras in general Told DH I need to get a few new bras for obvious reasons. His question, "are they going to stay that size or go back down? Because if they're going to go back down, you should just buy some cheap ones to wear until you're not pregnant." Just for that, I'm going to VS to get an expensive bra. That'll teach him!
FYI- not sure why that comment upsets me, I realize it's logical. Just don't want to be told what to buy :-)
@AshleyGemini24 yeah they should. They do free sizing. I've been sized by them twice before and I don't remember being pressured into buying afterward.
Last time around my favorite nursing bras ended up being the wireless ones from Target. I also bought a few of the super pricey Cake ones from Nordstrom but didn't like them as much. I still wear the Target ones now (still occasionally nursing). But FWIW I have tiny boobs so I don't need all that much support.
@AshleyGemini24 yes they size for free just go to the fitting room area ask the lady to size u and she will..but be careful i have been sized wrong and went else where and the bra size was different! Hope that helps
I would get sized and, it might sound obvious but, make sure you try on the specific bras you want because I've had same-size bras from VS fit very differently...depends on the style and coverage
I bought wireless ones from wal mart. They are super soft and comfortable but still hold shape nicely, about $10 each. I am holding off on nursing bras because I know I am going to grow more. I was 34C to start last time and went up to 34DD.
I haven't worn a underwire since I was pregnant with DS1, they just aren't comfortable anymore. I'm planning on getting a few sized up sports bras. They worked for me for nursing last time
Living in sports bras for now because small band sizes are expensive and these things don't seem to be done growing yet. Lululemon sports bras are comfortable as hell for small band/rapidly expanding breasts (even though the company owners have the ethical sense of a rabid badger).
Oh and the h&m ones are wireless but look and feel amazing .. With my first two babies I lived in the target ones but I'll be using these this time and wear my target Camis to bed
If you have a Nordstrom near you they will measure you for free as well. As someone else has mentioned, sometimes the measurements at VS can be sketchy at times.

But, I do know that Motherhood maternity does fittings so I'll likely go there.
For now I bought a few more mid impact, molded sports bras with hook closures to give me some growing room. So comfy!
