Nursing/comfy Bra for Ridiculous Boobs?

Hey guys,

I am having a really hard time finding an appropriate bra for my massive, gross boobs. I'm approximately a 34G (maybe even a wee bit bigger at the beginning of nursing), and the ladies are pretty lazy and don't like to help in any way in the support division (read: nipple/belly button conversations). Help?! It's super embarrassing to have 60 year old lady boobs at 28 and I just want to find something that will make me look presentable. Anyone know of any good solutions that won't break the bank?

Re: Nursing/comfy Bra for Ridiculous Boobs?

  • I would google places (pharmacies) that do a bra fitting if you are planning to breastfeed. My boobs got gigantic last pregnancy and bra fitters did the trick - they recommended the size in medela bra selection. Even after I was done nursing I still wear the bras since my boobs didn't really get back to my regular size. if you don't want to go with bra fitters you can shop for medela bras yourself, just get the bras after 36 weeks so you know your approximate size. I would get a little bigger bra too.

  • Biggest struggle of my pregnancy! I too am at a G cup. I got lucky at Target yesterday and found some inexpensive bras that fit. Unfortunately when you are a G cup, no bras look good. The ones that fit still make the ladies look like wide saggy boobs. I own one Freya bra in a FF cup that has a molded cup and underwire. It's the best of the bunch but at $70+ a bra, and I am only at 33 weeks, I am not buying a lot of those.

I have justified my flabby boob look by saying that everyone is looking at the HUGE baby bump and not my flabby boobs.

God help me for post birth and engorgement. I am going to need hammocks for each boob.
  • As a STM with some seriously full 32Gs my last pregnancy, I will say this: your chest may shrink after about a week PP. After your milk comes in, your chest will settle, which may lead to them actually shrinking down a bit like mine did.

Don't limit yourself to just nursing bras. Lightly lined bras that have flexible cups are great for nursing. Same with front close bras.

  • I'm an F cup now, and I found some bras at Motherhood Maternity for a decent price (most around $25-$40, depending on the style). They will measure you there, and they've got a pretty wide selection, from underwire support with a firmer cup that will disengage, so you can use it to nurse (which is what I'm currently using...they're fairly comfortable) and sports bra style (more like a cotton bra that just generally holds them in a somewhat contained area. If you'r boobs are anything like mine, nothing short of an underwire bra with tons of structure is going to hold the girls in place)

Bravado nursing tanks. They're a bit pricy, but SO WORTH IT. They're the only nursing tanks I've found that will do much of anything support wise for my 34Gs.

I also have a couple of bras from Hot Milk which are good (Eclipse is one of them), but they're not as comfy as the tanks.

  • I have a few hot milk brand I got pretty cheap on zulilly last time, so keep your eye out for deals on those. They were comfy, supportive, and actually cute.
  • I too now have gigantic tatas. My boobs laugh at no-underwire comfy bras and sports bras.  I tried getting a normal bra, but the damn underwire comes up so high the only shirt I could wear was a turtleneck without the bra showing.  I found this Cake Lingerie nursing bra and love it (I needed a 40H).  I'm going to buy a bunch. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DNRUKWK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Goddess women's sports bras are great.  They come in big cup sizes, but the band size runs small.

I bought a 3pack of the genie bras on Amazon, they are soooo comfy! Im a ddd, and I have the same problem finding bras that don't make me so saggy and won't empty my wallet. I don't leave the house very much, and depending on the kind of shirt Im wearing depends on if I will wear it out of the house or not. They definitely aren't the most supportive but they do the job and were cheap and comfortable! I'll be wearing them while breastfeeding too

I have this issue too, made even worse by pregnancy. I discovered HerRoom.com a few years ago and I absolutely love them. They carry many brands with larger sizes and have great shipping and return policies. I am going to finally buy a bigger size soon and have seen many options there that will work for me (size 34G pre-pregnancy, who knows what I am now).

  • I can't do no underwire....I just can't.  Pre-pregnancy boobs are 40G and I'm anticipating once my milk comes in they'll grow.  Anyone found any WITH underwire that are supportive and lifting and don't look like what grandma wears???

  • The only bra that has worked for my 40F boobs has been the Bravado essential bra. However I did find that the band size was smaller than expected so I have to use the extender but it actually keeps me supported throughout the day.
  • Anything Bravado is great. I also noticed that AdoreMe (the lingerie subscription site) has nursing sets. I have one of them, but actually haven't even tried it on yet. I can do a better review once this babe is out. I'm glad to see a few positive things about Hot Milk as I was wanting to try them!

Per a couple of y'alls recommendations I went ahead and ordered the Bravado Essential bra, though was I was really looking for underwire.  The reviews on their bras were phenomenal!

I haven't worn a bra without an underwire since I was about 12 and I have to say I am genuinely impressed with what this bra can do!
  • I had to resurrect this thread because I got the Bravado Essentials bra in the mail and dear lord....I hated it.  I'm all about full coverage, but I felt like I was wearing a turtleneck.  Aside from that, I didn't find the band supportive at all enough to hold the girls up.
Anyone have ANY luck with a wired bra?  I just can't do wireless....

  • I have a couple Elomi Smoothing  Cup nursing bras I got from Breakout Bras online. They have underwire. Despite the smoothing in the name,  there's not much to the cup, but they are comfortable and I haven't been embarrassed by show through. Just ordered two more in the next size. They are about $50 each, but you get a 15% coupon after your first order and returns are easy and free.
