Baby Names

Waiting till baby is born to reveal name!

We are not finding out the sex of the baby and will not reveal our name choice until after the baby is born. We don't want unwanted opinions from family to cloud our judgment. However I am usually one that likes to gather others opinions in case they point out something I hadn't thought of so I would like some feedback so this seems like a good place to put the names out there. We've had some difficulty agreeing on names but have come to an agreement on one name for a girl and one for a boy.

For a girl our top name is

Autumn Joyce

For a boy, top name choice is

Xavier James

  • Beautiful, strong names! Love them. Good job!
  • Both nice names!

  • My brother kept his kids' names a secret until they were born, and I hate my nieces names hahhahaha. But even if he had told me them beforehand, I would have just said oh cool and kept my mouth shut because they aren't my kids. I think yours are very nice!
  • I think you have solid names there!
  • Solid choices !
  • Both are nice.
  • I absolutely love your names! Don't think you can go wrong with either. Very good choices IMO.

Totally agree with the notion to keep the name a secret until birth. We're doing the same thing and are also feeling the frustration of not being able to bounce the name off people who know us personally. But in the end, it's impossible to find a name EVERYONE likes and it's such a personal choice, if you feel good about what you picked everyone else will learn to live with it!

  • I'm all for keeping the names a secret. To be honest I don't think we're even going to agree on a name until baby's here. Your names are cute!

We did the same... and post-partum, people asked what the name would have been if LO was a girl, and we told. Now I wish we hadn't - because my mom trashed the name, and it's a family name for DH. So we would likely use it if we have a girl, and that will be a little awkward.

TL;DR don't even tell the unused name!

ETA: I like both your names!
