9 weeks! Grape! no appointments coming up. Stressed about getting my insurance figured out. I thought I had it all good to go but now I have to do more work and call and sit on hold for ages and I don't want to! I have on and off nausea but I'm pretty confident it will go away with the second trimester. Excited that it's just around the corner. I am so excited to go on daily walks with my husband and 2 boys. It's our favorite! We even walked in the 32 degree cloudy weather yesterday bc that didn't seem that cold to us. Just give me 40 and sunny and we are going to be on cloud 9.
Married 6-1-13 Sebastian 3-11-14 Simon 5-2-15 Baby #3 Due 9-29-16
Upcoming appointments? I have my 2nd appointment on Monday. We will get to hear the heartbeat for the first time. I know I will feel a million times better about telling people after I get to hear it (we only saw it at our 7 week appointment).
Rants/Raves/Questions? Tomorrow is my birthday so we have social gatherings planned this Saturday and next Saturday to tell our closest friends and family that we are expecting. I am very excited. Although next week is a party I planned at our house and I am not sure where I thought I would find the energy to clean, decorate and prepare for it all.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I am still pretty tired but I noticed my sense of smell isn't quite as heightened as it has been. So my overall quality of life has definitely improved. I just can't wait to have ENERGY again!
GTKY: Since we are getting hit with a big snowstorm as I type this, it is hard to imagine winter coming to an end. But I know it is and I can not wait for it to be warmer outside for my daily walks with my Siberian Husky. I stopped running at 5 weeks pregnant but I am really hoping I will find the energy and feel good jogging outside again. That and the idea of flip flops and maxi dresses sound amazing this summer.
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
I've been posting on other discussions and following along on check-ins and ticker changes since BFP. Figured I might as well join the fun.
How many weeks? 13! See you later 1st trimester
What size is baby? Matchbox car
Upcoming appointments? Nothing til 3/7 and its just a quick check-in and hearing the heartbeat with the doppler.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Feeling like a complete idiot for locking my keys in my car this morning when I got to work. Hopefully DH doesn't tease me too much...I tend to do this every few months somehow.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? The awful nausea is slowly going away. It lasted til about 16wks with DS, so I didn't expect it to just disappear this time at 13wks but it would be nice to not feel like I've been on the Tilt-A-Whirl a few too many times.
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? I live in Colorado so I'm just looking forward to light hiking and four wheeling in the mountains and hopefully boating at the reservoir nearby. Our little town is putting in a new park with a splash pad and I'm hoping it will be completed by summertime.
Upcoming appointments? Not for a couple weeks. Somehow my 12 week appointment got scheduled for 13w1d.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I just ordered a some new maternity clothes. New clothes are always exciting!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I've been very frustrated with the constant nausea- it is so much worse this time around than it was with DS. And the food aversions are horrible. I never want to eat anything. I get sick if I don't eat, but I also get sick if I eat too much (which is like 5 bites). I think my 26 pound toddler eats more than I do these days. I have lost a few pounds so far this pregnancy (I do have several pounds to lose...). I gained way too much with my last pregnancy (45 pounds total, 10 during 1st trimester), so at least I'm on track to keep my total weight gain under control.
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? Warmer weather. We had a nice sneak peak last weekend before the snow.
This bold vs not bold formatting is being a bitch to me. Sorry.
How many weeks? 13!! Almost officially through first trimester!
What size is baby? A peach
Upcoming appointments? None until 16 weeks. Though I did get the results of my global genetic screening back yesterday - everything was negative! So helpful to know I'm not a carrier of anything they tested for...that will never change so I won't have to test again if we have another baby in the future.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My rant: Today I was going to initiate a well-timed, overly thought-out plan to discuss a promotion with my Directors (something that's been in the works since November but has been on hold) to get their "real" thoughts/plans before announcing my pregnancy at work next week. Instead, I just found out the company chose today for lay-offs as our fourth quarter financials were just published. Don't get me wrong, I am absolutely, positively grateful to even still have my job in these circumstances and my heart goes out to everyone who was affected today. But I'm also selfishlysitting here thinking that there's now no way it'd be appropriate to have a promotion conversation anytime in the next week or even two weeks. There's no way I can successfully hide this bump that long, let alone the additional week buffer I had planned between the conversation and my announcement! So I guess a change of plans is in store...back to the drawing table...
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Nausea has subsided for the most part. Waiting for the fatigue/exhaustion to do the same!
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? I know this was my own question but I simply can't pick just one thing I'm looking forward to! Going for walks, BBQs, dresses and flip-flops, the splash pad with DD, working in the yard, just being outside in general - you name it, I want it! C'mon SUMMER!
Upcoming appointments? I have my NT scan tomorrow.
Rants/Raves/Questions?
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I crave fruit all the time!
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? I'm in CA and the weather is already very spring like and it's been nice! Lots of park dates with my little ones. In summer I look forward to swimming and beach days!
@JennM205I really feel for you on the job front. Do you feel like a promotion is off the table all together now given the financial status of your company? Or do you think if you had the conversation in say a month, your directors might give you an indication that it is coming soon? If that is the case, I am not sure I would announce the pregnancy, bump showing or not. But then again, if your company is anything like my last one, they will use the lay-offs as a reason to not promote anyone for a while so you may as well move forward with your pregnancy announcement. Ugh! Such a tough spot!
Married: 3/21/15 First time mom to a human but have been a puppy mamma for over 12 years
How many weeks? 13 weeks. Final week of first trimester!!
What size is baby? Peach
Upcoming appointments? 16 week appointment with midwife. Had my 12 week and NT scan on Mon. Can't wait to see my bubba again
Rants/Raves/Questions? I really thought this sickness would have completely gone but it's somehow worse now with it being only early mornings and evenings. The last thing I want is to be tired after work and then feel sick on top of it...
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? My heightened sense of smell seems to have started for the past couple of weeks I've been really sensitive to cooked foods (takeaway in particular) The windows constantly have to be open even if poor DH feels cold.
The only thing I seem to be craving (can comfortably stomach) is sandwiches. I can't remember the last time I ate a cooked meal that I made.
I think I still have an aversion to some red meats although I tried some boiled chicken that some made the other day and it went down well so maybe it's just in my head or I just can't cook it myself.
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? Summer is my favourite season so I cannot absolutely wait for warmer weather. The British sun has been a tease at the moment but looking forward to dresses, flip-flops, walks with DH, trip to the beach, BBQ's, spending time soaking up sun in the garden and my baby shower!!
Upcoming appointments? I had my Nuchal Translucency (Spelling?) today and got to see baby again! I have my Sex anatomy scan at 15 weeks on March 17th. I have my 17 week appointment March 29th.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My baby mooned us in the Nuchal Translucency ultrasound! My husband was so proud lol!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Brushing my teeth still affects me.
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? The warmth and the sunshine. I live in Alaska and its still fairly dark out and gloomy.
Upcoming appointments? 3/14 will be my first OB appointment. I can't wait to see baby!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Last Friday I had my nurse appointment and labs. I had a student phlebotomist and I almost passed out. It was so bad. She missed the vain and just wiggled her way around putting pressure and moving my arm in weird ways. Noises began to fade and I was a sweaty mess when she finally finished. I am very adverse to needles in the first place so I should have known it wasn't a good idea. A week later and my arm is still bruised and sore.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Pasta, all the pasta. I am finally feeling more like myself also. I was feeling sick for a few weeks, tired beyond belief, and brain fog!
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? Walks, longer days, just being outside daily! I can't wait for summer.
What size is baby? a green olive or southern pecan
Upcoming appointments? We just had our first ultrasound this past Monday, which confirmed a heartbeat and healthy, growing baby! HUGE RELIEF! We're now ready to transfer from the OB to our midwife (planning a home birth), and we see her on March 8th.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Tired, tired, tired, but so, so, so happy. I never anticipated how close this whole experience would bring my husband and me. It's really sweet sharing this experience with him. He's so interested in what's happening and excited to be a dad. Every morning he kisses me goodbye and then kisses the baby goodbye in my belly - same when he gets home in the afternoon.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Still have absolutely no interest in meat, and seem to be preferring fruit (especially citrus), bread, cheese, rice - pretty much anything but meat. I'm trying to drink broth every day to make sure I get some protein in.
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? Really looking forward to making the public announcement in a couple of weeks!
Upcoming appointments? Monday the 29th, but they didn't tell me what for. Maybe just HB and pee?
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have to go to dinner and a comedy club this weekend and idk how I will survive. It's a two drink min, so I'm going to buy one drink for my mom and one for my sis and tell them I'm pregnant. I enjoy having a drink so they'll know right away if I willing give mine away. We are seeing Iliza Shlesinger so I'm super excited and hope I feel well enough. (P.S. She has stand up on Netflix, you MUST watch it! One is called Freezing Hot and one is called War Paint.)
Taking my car into service tomorrow. Worried about the transmission. I know the service is going to be $400, but If they tell me I need a new tranny, I will cry. The transmission alone for my car is $12k not including labor!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Still dealing with nausea. Add headaches on top of it and I'm not a happy camper. I thought the nausea would be replaced with headaches, not added to. Scared to eat because I feel sick, but then force myself to eat and feel sick. I only feel OK-ish when it's been about an hour after I eat and no more than 3 hours from the last time I ate. I have no appetite but I keep eating to try to help with the nausea. I want to leave work now! GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? In AZ, it's as good as Spring here. Actually, I'd even say this IS Spring. We pretty much have two seasons here. I consider it Spring because it's hotter than Winter but colder than Summer. It's currently 81 degrees and Sunny. Honestly, I'm not looking forward to the Summer because it's freaking hot and now I will be super pregnant when it's over 110 degrees. I just might cave this year and let the Fiance get that above ground pool. I always say no because I don't think they look nice.
Upcoming appointments? Dating ultrasound today!! All the worst case scenarios are going through my head but I'm trying to stay positive. Tomorrow is our second midwife appointment, super excited to hear the baby's heartbeat
Rants/Raves/Questions? My rave is for my lovely momma who knows how tight our budget was, and how frustrated I was getting that none of my clothes fit (except for leggings), and took me shopping last weekend for some awesome maternity stuff. She's been so supportive for us these last couple of months. It's not easy being on a student budget and prepping for baby!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Feels like this changes everyday. Right now it seems like everything my mom cooks is super strong smelling and I can't even eat it. She brought us this super yummy Shepard's pie casserole that I normally LOVE, and I had to get DH to take it outside.
GTKY: As we're sloooowly nearing the end of winter, what are you looking forward to the most about Spring/Summer? Oh my gawwd, the smell in the air. Sounds weird but the freshness of spring and summer is my jams. Also looking forward to wearing maxi skirts and dresses 24/7, and it being hot (although that might change... being in the 3rd trimester in the dead of summer here might be awful). And of course going swimming in the river in our town!
