When you...

See an ad on Facebook for extra cheesy pizza and suddenly (even though I've been crazy sick all day) you NEED that pizza. So you order it, get dressed, drive the 11 miles to the pizza place, get the pizza in the car and suddenly.... the smell is so overpowering that you have to drive with your head out the window otherwise you'll hurl.

Re: When you...

  • Awww that really sucks

  • I'm 9 weeks and the first few weeks I wanted to eat everything in site. But now I really don't have an appetite. Oh and orange juice does not make my belly feel good.
  • I can totally relate. I get excited about things and then when they are available I want to barf. The joys of pregnancy continue!
  • I usually tell people that I have aversions and foods that I can tolerate (not cravings, per se, just things that don't make me gag). It's always surprising to me how I can eat food prepared by someone else, but can't even think of preparing my own food (even microwaving soup!) since anything made in my kitchen is detestable. Pregnancy is seriously the strangest experience. I normally love food! Last time around I definitely had more cravings, though. This time all food is evil.
  • The struggle is real

  • @AGM0616 - I'm the same way! I absolutely cannot make my own food. Looking at and smelling it in its raw, uncooked state makes me want to gag! And it doesn't really matter what it is. Even cold cereal gives me willies if I have to pour the milk into the bowl.

Totally. Like last night k really wanted a burrito so I ordered and when it came took three bites and then felt ill! It's such a cruel joke!

  • Omg thank goodness I am not alone. I had to have DH buy thinner chips because I couldn't stand the thought of putting our tortilla chips in my mouth- they were too 'thick'. Ate them once and now I can't stand them either!

That's funny because I NEVER used to be a juice person, now I can't get enough orange juice!
  • I made the mistake when pregnant with DD of buying multiple items of things I craved when on sale. So I would usually eat the first bag of whatever it was (say, Doritos, since that definitely happened) and then could not even stomach the thought of eating any more Doritos ever until after I delivered. Doesn't help that I have a gluten allergy and all I desire to eat right now is plain bagels with peanut butter and jelly... Gluten-free food is not cheap!
  • I ate 12 hot wings in one sitting on Sunday night because I had been thinking about hot wings for 3 days. My stomach still hasn't quite recovered. Ditto on the having now desire to cook. I am a beginner to moderate cook and a strict recipe follower, so cooking is quite a task for me anyway. For the past month or so, DH is lucky if I manage to cook one dinner a week. He on the other hand is an expert chef and foodie, so it's so hard for me to make the effort sometimes when I know that I could cook for 2 hours and make something that would taste half as good as something he makes in 30 minutes. Add 1st trimester nausea on top of that and forget it. I feel like a stay at home failure.

  • Cooking in my house is pretty much nonexistent. My poor dd and DH are living off tv dinners, lunchables and snack foods. The other day I managed to make a Homestyle Bakes meal. But all that it required was pouring cans of stew into a pan and topping it with bisquick.

Hahah! My husband thinks I'm crazy- we did the same thing! Bought a costco sized bag of Doritos, ate a few and decided I never want to look at Doritos again. What's a craving one day isn't safe again!
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one with every-changing cravings- that legit change at the drop of a hat.

Omg I'd die. I can hardly go in public anymore because of people and their perfumes/colognes
