  I'll be starting mine Friday. My OB said they will do the first few, then either train my husband or my aunt to give them at home since they're both in the medical field, and I'll only have to come into office for every 3-4 shots instead of every one.

  I used to give the injections to our clinic patients. The liquid the progesterone is stored in is an oil, so it's thicker.  This means it takes some (minor) skill to draw it up and pushing the injection requires some extra elbow grease.  The person doing the injections can definitely do it, they just need to be comfortable with everything it involves (including being able to stick you with a needle).

  I'm getting them starting the week after next. My insurance 100% covers a home health aide coming to give me the shot (when I'm not going to be at the doctors office and getting it there). DH hates needles and I've heard it's super hard to give yourself a shot in the bum.

  Ok. Sounds just like PIO during IVF. I'll have the nurse give me a refresher and then do the others. Thank you!

   

     

  TTC since 3/2011 Adenomyosis, LPD, hypothyroidism. 
  

  BFP on 7/20/12 after 4 cycles Clomid + IUI 

  2 large subchorionic hematomas & no heartbeat at 7w6d   

  D&E 8/18/12 Sonohysterography found septum and necrotic tissue.   

  Hysteroscopy to remove both 10/5

  IUI #5-7 50mg Clomid + trigger = BFN  

  IUI #8 Femara + Bravelle + HCG + Progesterone = BFP 3/27/13

  Beta 1 (13dpo) = 169  Beta 2 (17dpo) = 1073  No heartbeat at 9w3d. 

  D & C 5/10/13  Triploidy 69 (paternal inherited)

  IVF #1 with ICSI and PGS 11R 8M 5F 2 biopsied/frozen

  PGS results = 1 with trisomy 13 & 1 good embryo for FET 

  FET #1 EV, estrace, nitro patches.  Cancelled due to thin lining

  FET #1.2 oral estrace, f'ing nitro patches and no delestrogen.  Transfer 12/31. BFN

  PAIF/SAIF welcome

  Surprise BFP on 6/13/14  Our only unmedicated bfp ever.

  Beta #1 339  Beta #2 649 44 hour doubling time

  I declined them with my daughter bc the hadn't completed the clinical trials.  However, that was just my personal preference.  My OB and Perinatologist reinforced there have been not adverse outcomes as a result, just that it really wasn't confirmed that they work.  I was getting a cerclage anyways and that has worked for me without the injections.  If I had not gotten the cerclage I would have most definitely done those.
  
  to answer that question I was going to do the injections myself.  That was what my OB said all his patients do.

  Sounds very similar to PIO that us IVF ladies had to do for the first several weeks, and that's super easy to do yourself.  There's several youtube videos you can look up to see how to do it - piece of cake!  I even had to do some myself while I was traveling and it was nbd.  The oil makes it harder to draw, but if you push some air into the vial it'll draw much easier.
  
  Edit: Duh, I just re-read your post and saw that you are a PAIF girl, too.  In fact, my DD was a September Sunflower in 2013, so we must have been over there at the same time.  So you already know all this stuff....ignore me LOL
