So that's the baby mobile I made. (I will buy one for the next baby, if we have a next baby. It was SO much more work than I thought it would be!)
Still need to to hang this up (it's sideways) and it's a horrible picture of it... I'll be getting some hardware to mount it probably tomorrow.
Current projects: Still working on star shaped mat for the living room, and I'm almost done with the fox newborn set. (Cowl/diaper cover. Ran out of yarn before I got to the tail )
I've accomplished a mobile, two crib sheets, a shade that has yet to be hung (so only half-accomplished, I guess), and a couple of small canvasses. I can't paint or be artsy so I shamelessly recycled some unused scrapbooking supplies and leftover fabric from one of the sheets. I still need to sew some burp cloths and sheets for the pnp she'll be in for the first few weeks in our room, plus decide whether I'm going to buy a wrap and ring sling or make them.
@AmadorRose I love your mobile! If I was having a girl I would have done the feathers and butterflies route. My grandmother and I are both obsessed with butterflies though
The whole feathers and arrows theme (the off-white sheet has little gold arrows but you can't really tell) was a little too much for me at first but I couldn't get over the peacock fabric, then found the little arrows fabric and it just clicked. It's hokey but it's kind of a cute nod to my Native American ancestry, especially since my Gram passed away in December and she was kind of the link to that heritage. Plus, it's not pink
Gorgeous work ladies! I taught myself how to crochet and made some baby moccasins trying to finish up a scarf at the moment so I can start another and make a teddy bear. My phone is bring a pos and not letting me upload a photo
Well I guess that's kind of a lie... I've made **very little** progress on the stroller blanket I am crocheting. Annndddd that's about it. I need to get my butt in gear!

I feel like this should be a fffc :P I'm off to Home Depot to get something to hang up that "stick picture" as my nephew so eloquently put it :P
AmadorRose I love the mobile. I am trying to decide if I want to put in the effort to make one or just buy one off etsy or something. I love the peacock fabric too! So pretty.

You didn't ask me, but I already stated I will buy the next one... Seemed like such an easy project! Six hours later >.>

Mine took maybe an hour - the hardest part was waiting for the paint to dry before I could hang them. I need crafts that I can make noticeable progress on or I get frustrated and give up.
@Knottie9983816 I LOVE the stick picture! And the mobile. I *might* try to make one....but cut out the paper with my cricut to save time.
@AmadorRose I NEED that peacock fabric in my life! I love peacocks (used to have real ones) and love all things them.
@allaire314, I'm in the same boat as you...NADA! Don't even have the crib put together yet. Or the space in our room cleared out to put the crib. Mom-Winning!!
Does it count if I bought fabric for a crib blanket?I'm going to get a different soft fabric for the light gray triangle fabric. According to DH, "they have the same level of gray, so they look washed out together." He loved both of the triangle fabrics, so I figured why not make one with each? I just couldn't decide on the soft back right in the moment.
I stitched the tree back in 2002, but this was my first time framing a piece myself. It stretched unevenly (boo), but it took me forever so I refuse to redo it. Also not really safari, but I think it will look nice over the dresser Also half the animals for the mobile are done and strung, so hopefully I can fix the gold ones and get it all put together this weekend.
It took me several months because hunching over the sewing machine tires my back out, but I FINALLY finished my baby niece's quilt, just 1 week before her 2 month bday. Phew! It was my first time doing an applique on a quilt (and only my 3rd baby quilt ever) so that took forever. Especially because I embroidered the eye and tail by hand.
Repurposed an old DIY chalkboard sign from our wedding to make this bow holder today! I almost bought something from Hobby Lobby to use for 30$, but instead managed to throw this together for just the cost of the hooks and ribbon, had everything else on hand. 5$ masterpiece, woo!
@yodiggity it's such a simple fix - just a painted old frame of some type, a roll of ribbon, and the hooks. I drilled holes, screwed in the hooks, hot glued the ribbon in the back, and then added the little embellishments that I had left over from my yarn wall letter project.. and voila! The two projects also kind of coordinate now too, so that's handy.
Does anyone dye fabric? I got some muslin for swaddle blankets and I want to dye them (muslin only comes in white and off-white where I've looked) but I've never dyed fabric. Any tips for making it work? How do I know when it's the hue I want?
It's not a cute thing but I hope it'll make my life easier. I got a used Peg Perego Prima Pappa Best high chair from a friend and thought of making a cover since the seat is still nice n soft but the top was peeling after washing it. I'm hoping this water-resistant faux leather cover will make my life easier since I can easily wipe stuff off, take it off & wash it. Half-way done, half left to go!

@redselig I just ordered my dye and fabric from Joann's but I believe you're overseas, so I'm not sure what the process would be for you.
Unfortunately not available for me. I've only ever used Rit and Tintex so if I were to buy local and persevere with instructions in a language other than English - I'd rather not. I'm soo lazy.

Oh that's way too risky! I'm going with Rit so hopefully I don't mess it up too much!
As far as brands, the ones I've seen recommended are Dharma, Tulip, Dylon and Jacquard. @AmadorRoseand I exchanged some info on fb, but wanted to share here for the broader group. From what I've read, Rit is not recommended for use on baby items. I've only used Tulip so far, which was super easy (and available on Amazon Prime, win!), but might try Dharma for the next round as they have a lot more color options.
I made these jellyfish yesterday to hang in our ocean-themed nursery. Pier 1 has these really great remote-controlled LED lights that I'm going to mount inside so we can use them as lights since the nursery doesn't have any overhead lighting.

Not craft related, but yay peacocks!

I took a small break from it and decided to make these as well. Will be making a matching hat for his coming home outfit
cmjenkies I LOVE that! I've been trying to figure out how to organize baby girl's headbands and bows.
Knottie9983816 Freaking adorable!

I wanted to make this but decided against it since I can't be fussed looking for dye.
