I gave up drinks Monday through Thursday for Lent (wtf was I thinking). TGIF, cause this mama needs a stiff whiskey drink today after a rough week with DS. Must be a growth spurt.
DD would not sleep last night unless she was on me. I got so tired of holding her that I passed her to my mom at 8 am and told her to give her a bottle instead of waking me up to feed her.
We use our dining room as a changing room instead of the nursery, I'm not going upstairs every time she needs a diaper change. The pack n play, which is also in the dining room serves as a great dresser. *clarity
I bought my 8 week old an iPod today, at least it was on sale...we are raising DS bilingually but I'm the primary caregiver and don't speak the minority language (I'm working on it). I didn't want delete my workout playlists so I could fill my iPod with DS's immersion music, lullabyes or kid music so I bought another iPod. I also needed bluetooth for the speaker since DS will not be wearing headphones anytime soon and my ipod is old and doesn't have Bluetooth. I justified it to DH that whoever is with DS will have his music and we won't both be filling our iPods with kiddie music.
After a really really long couple of days of cluster feeds, general crankiness, lack of baby (and mom) naps, and possibly a growth spurt, I'm so done. DH (willingly) gets to watch Rhys tonight while I go to the movies and sleep in a separate bedroom. Between all that and intense job searching, I'm exhausted and drained. I'm really excited about my night off, and thankful for my wonderful DH.
Le leche league is on my hit list. Seriously are they helpful to anyone? I ebf my first for 2 1/2 yrs clearly I'm a fan of bf but holy hell- I contacted them about getting dd to take a bottle - not of arsenic but of breastmilk- and they acted like "how selfish!" Seriously? They guided me to "helpful articles" that said things like "try not to be gone during a feeding" ummmm here in the real world ladies need a break. A break that lasts longer than an hour or 2. I have a bachelorette party in April that's calling my name!
The hubs had the flu so we decided to sleep in separate beds. I took DS and we slept in the first bed so DH was quarantined to our bed. I like my DH much more when I don't have to look over at his sleeping face during motn feedings.
@blended10 I recommend them as a resource (I work in nutrition & public health), but I always feel the need to give the warning/disclaimer that they can be extreme...& to take it all with a grain if salt because of stuff like that. My mom said when she was BFing me members wouldn't hesitate to feed your child for you, so I'd be terrified to let my child out of sight with them. I asked my OB about antihistamines and BFing and he said that the risks to supply are hugely overstated for most medications and that certain groups (implying LLL) spend a lot of time fear mongering around these issues.

We are "moving back in" tomorrow. I'm sad.
