ER worthy or??

I'm bleeding but have no cramps. Which of course is super scary and stressful which I know doesn't do any good. I can't get in with my doctors office until monday. I've had previous miscarriages. Just trying to figure out what to do. Should I go to the ER or wait it out. It is more then a little spotting. Not a heavy flow more like a drip system.

Re: ER worthy or??

  • Can you call your doctor to ask their advise? Nurses are always on call

  • Call your doctors office, but my nurse told me to go if I'm cramping so bad that it's unbearable or if I soak through an overnight pad in an hour.

  • 1. You should definitely call and ask for advice. They can, at a minimum, tell you if you should go to the ER.
    2. If it were me (note my lack of experience here), if I'm not in danger because of the bleeding (meaning it's not a crazy amount) and if there's nothing they can do to stop a potential MC, I don't know that an ER visit is worth it. Again, I have ZERO real knowledge on this, it's just what my through process would be if I were in your shoes.
  • I was told to go to the ER when I had no option but the urgent care last time with my loss. I didn't have an ob. They give you tylenol, may do an us then send you to your ob after 5 hours, with a bill and snark for wasting their time. Call your OB, most want to see you if you are bleeding and will make time to get your seen. I understand you are scared, but the ER can't do anything so it's best to take the advice of your OB.

  • I'm sorry you're going through this :( I just went through this yesterday.. my OB office fit me in right after I called to do an ultrasound. Perhaps you can call them back to see if there is anyway they can fit you in today and if not, see if they think you should go to the ER?

  • I'm sorry you're going through this and I have my fingers crossed for you that it turns out to be nothing serious! I've had some spotting and asked my doctor what I should do it it got worse (we had a long weekend so wanted to be prepared), he said to go to the ER if there was severe cramps or heavy bleeding. If I were you I'd probably wait it out and call my Drs office. Hope that helps your decision!:)
  • Got in at my doctors office and today I miscarried for the third time. Thank you guys for the advice.
  • Aww I'm so sorry for your loss:(
  • I'm so very sorry, @nlbungartz7.  I'm glad you were able to get into your doctor's office but I'm sorry it was not what you or any of us wanted to hear.  Take care of yourself and you are in my thoughts.
  • I am so so sorry. When you're feeling better, I'd encourage you to have some testing done to see if a cause can be found for the recurrent losses. You're in my thoughts.
