Would you or would you not buy another travel system? I am debating on whether to buy a snap and go with a car s eat and then buying a stroller later or a whole travel system. Help???
I had the Graco quattro tour travel system. I would, without doubt, buy a snap and go and a car seat and get a stroller once your child outgrows the car seat.
I also have the Graco Quattro, but I would definitely buy another travel system. I've seen moms in the mall w/ the Snap and Go strollers. They look so uncomfortable b/c they seem smaller, shorter, etc. They're very plain and basic. The system stroller has all the comforts, and the stroller part lasts as long as a separately purchased stroller. I don't see the point in buying a bare stroller and and infant carrier only to buy another stroller later....they're not cheap. I LOVE my ts.
I hated all of the strollers that came with the travel systems, so I got a graco snugride seat and a stroller that I loved that would also hold the seat. ?Graco strollers just seem so big and bulky, and every friend I have who has one hates it (well, one friend likes her's).
I would never buy a travel system. Snap n gos are great. I would start with that. I would get a stroller based on your lifestyle and what you want to do with it. Almost no travel system suits anything more than the mall well.
I have 6 strollers (including 2 doubles), and they all have their pluses and enable me to do what I want with my DD without a lot of hassel. By far, I use my Mountain Buggy Urban the most, pretty much everywhere, but the doctor and the library.
I really like my graco travel system. We have been using it for 18 months and still love it. I would mostly likely buy it again unless I decided I needed a really expensive stroller, then I would probably not get the travel system. But for everything we do the travel system has been great.
I would not buy another travel system. I would just do the snap and go thing instead. I never used the stroller once dd was out of the car seat. It was just too big and bulky so we picked up a maclaren when she was around 7 mos and still use it at 3.
We didn't have a travel system and I was all about finding the perfect stroller because I did not want to spend the money on multiple strollers. I also hated the Graco strollers because they seem so big and bulky. A lot of the other strollers that are nice can be sooo expensive...So my opinion is to get a Peg Perego Pliko P3. We LOVE ours. I cannot say enough good things about this stroller. It has been perfect for everything we use it for-walks around the neighborhood, outings like the zoo, mall trips...it's a really good all-purpose stroller (unless you are a big runner and want to jog with it, then you'd have to get a jogger). When Claire was a newborn I just stuck her Graco SafeSeat in the stroller like a travel system and it worked fine. We got a great deal on ours (2 and 1/2 years ago) at albeebaby.com. They have really good customer service and their stuff ships really fast.
I bought the smallest travel system - the Graco Metrolite, because I didn't want a great big bulky set. I love/d it, never a need for any 2nd stroller.
Also something to think about... the goodwill here in FL will not accept Graco strollers because of so many recalls on Graco brand. I found out when we tried to donate our old graco stroller. I was amazed that they wouldn't take it.
Chicco TS has worked fine. We still use the stroller at 2.5. We have an umbrella stroller but never have used it because it cuts into his legs. We use a wagon for longer trips (it has seat backs and a place for storage plus drinks). It is easier to maneuver on uneven ground or ground that is littered with bark, etc.
I had a Chicco Cortina TS and I recently sold it to a friend. I will not go the TS route next time. I am getting a carseat and a Maclaren easy traveler. I'm also going to make a Moby my first purchase. I wore my friend's newborn in one a few weeks ago and loved it.
