Is this RLP?! Really hoping so

ladies I am on the struggle bus. I have been for a few weeks now but today it's really bad! I am curious to know if any of you ladies are experiencing this as well or if I'm suffering alone!

Ok so when I sit or lay down I am perfectly fine- no pain at all. But when I stand up or roll over (even if I stand SUPER slowly) there is a sharp stabbing pain in my lower left belly. It almost feels like my ovary. After standing a few minutes the pain goes away. When I go to take a step the pain returns. Every time I take a step on my left leg the pain is excruciating. It makes me walk like I've got a corn cob stuck up my butt haha. I reallllllly find myself wishing I had a pair of crutches so I wouldn't have to put any weight on my left leg at all. Do you think this is RLP?

It it would be so comforting to know if you ladies are experiencing this with me :(

  • Actually, my doctor did say it sounds like I have SPD.. But this stretching stabbing pain in my lower left is a different feeling- if that makes any sense. I can almost tell which pains are SPD and which pains are RLP.. Just wondering if anyone else's RLP was as painful as mine :(  @jolydan
  • It could also be sciatic related as the pain can radiate down one leg.

  • SPD feels like you have been kicked in the crotch like 100 times (soreness, not sharp pain). It isn't something that comes and goes, you are just extremely sore 24/7 from your inner thigh, all of the way up through your crotch, to your other inner thigh. It hurts to walk, it hurts to stand, it hurts to get out of the car, to roll over in bed, etc. I didn't have it with my first pregnancy, but I do with this one, and its not a pain that goes away, until you deliver (some people have it for months after delivery).

I have had RLP, but it isn't always with one side like you are describing. It feels more like a stretching/pulling, and does hurt (but feels nothing like SPD). Have you asked your doctor to check your ovaries? I had a cyst when I was pregnant with DD, so this pregnancy, I just asked  if they would check out my ovaries while they were doing my ultrasound. The other thing that it kind of sounds like, is the sciatica pain that I had with my first pregnancy (but mine was my right leg), but it didn't go up to my abdomen, it was in the back and went up my leg....to my right butt cheek.

  • I had a very similar pain today, on the same side. I stood up and had a pain that went from under the left side of my belly over to my hip. It hurt so bad it literally stopped me in my tracks, but the pain went away after a few minutes. I've had some pains here and there when standing up from sitting, but nothing like today!
  • I have RLP, but not SPD. My RLP feels exactly like your first bit (not the left leg). I mainly get it in my lower right side, and if I do anything it hurts like a b***h. I have come up with some creative swear words when it happens.

For a couple of weeks it was constantly there, basically no matter what movement I did, made worse by sudden movements. Now it is mainly just there when I do something sudden, like sneeze or roll over in bed. I was checked out by a doctor due to it being weird that it was there constantly, but she agreed that it was RLP.

  • June lurker here.

I had very similar pain this Sunday, and it slowly got better after a few days; it was on my lower right and radiated down into my groin like a stabbing pain. Sunday was so bad I had to just lie down on the couch all day. I was going to call the doctor on Monday if it didn't get better, but it was ok, just sudden movements or coughing would aggravate it, which to me sounds like RLP. I think the fact that lying down makes it go away, means it's not something serious. Obviously, if you're concerned call your doctor, but it sounds like normal pregnancy stretching and pulling. Isn't it great!

@Lindsayleigh1989 the pain is actually not in my left leg at all. The pain *feels like* it is my left ovary or something in that region. When I stand or put weight on my left leg the left ovary region hurts.

@PhoebeJune1984 ohhhh yes the SPD pain is just annoying. Honestly getting out of and into the car and rolling over in bed are the worst. My doctor told me to be careful getting in and out of the shower too because many women have dislocated or even broken their pelvis that way!

@huskypuppy14 haha yes it's just wonderful! It's all worth it though. Thanks for your input!

@LilLambie thank you! Hoping mine will disappear soon!
