Hi everyone. My husband and I will be moving to Midland, Michigan when I'll be about 30 weeks into our first pregnancy. It's for a job opportunity for him, so we didn't have any choice on timing. We have no relatives or friends there to suggest obgyns or pediatricians. Wondering if anyone is from the area and could make any suggestions. Thanks!!
Re: Moving to Midland, Michigan-need advice
I am moving at some point in my pregnancy (timing isn't set yet) so I feel you on finding a new doctor. My current OB said most doctors will take you fairly late as long as you have documented quality prenatal care up until that point. Each practice will have different rules on their deadline and requirements. Plus, most offices cap their patients at a certain number. My OB suggested I start calling now and already get one lined up, even if I won't need to switch over until the third tri, just to make sure there's one that has room for me.
Also, try to see if there are any mom groups or pregnancy groups on Facebook for the area! They'd be a great resource for doctors, child care, etc.
