Mine is I really strongly dislike the weight gain weight loss comparison posts. It's not healthy to compare and if you are concerned talk to your dr.
I don't like seeing non medicated birth labeled as "natural". It feels like an insult to me who is planing on doing an epidural if possible that my birth process is deemed by some as "unnatural". Couldn't people just say they prefer a medicated vs unmedicated birth instead?
@Lindsayleigh1989 I don't even open the weight gain/loss threads. I feel like they're just designed to make *this* person feel good, and *that* person feel bad (whether you feel bad about gaining too much or not enough - both are equal in my mind).
@Lindsayleigh1989 & @DobbysSock - Agree with you both on the weight gain/loss. Everyone is different and will gain in different ways. I got comments so much during my last pregnancy; some people would say I looked too small, others would say too big. One family member told me I better be eating enough for my baby because I didn't look like I was gaining enough. That pissed me off. Meanwhile, I had coworkers saying not to put our meeting snacks in front of me because I'll eat them all .
I want to murder every person who suggests staying home to me when I talk about how difficult it is to find child care. THAT IS NOT AN OPTION! NO ONE SAYS THAT SH!T TO MY HUSBAND! SEXIST F***S!!! These comments are SO disrespectful! Why the F would anyone ever assume my career is less important than his?! That is systematic sexism and it makes me feel like a second class human! A penis or a vagina is NOT a tell-tale sign of a person's income or financial situation!!! UGH So rude and disrespectful and frustrating! I think the next person who suggests this deserves an earful and a wake-up call. You're being sexist. You should be aware of the fact that suggesting I stay home because I have a vagina is sexist. If you suggested one of us stay home or asked if either of us could stay home that would be fine, but assuming I would be that person is sexist. ***BURNINATING THE VILLAGES! BURNINATING THE PEASANTS!***

I'm sorry you're going through that @noelietrex and I totally understand how frustrated you are. People haven't been asking me if I'm quitting my job- however they do ask me all of the time if I plan on taking time off from finishing my masters. It drives me nuts! I usually tell them that this timing was planned so that I can have the baby in July, return to school in September and graduate the following December. Why the hell would I extend that another semester? And it's always mentioned with this pessimistic tone - you can't possibly work full time, go to school part time and have an infant - well doubting family I will be all of the above specifically now to prove you wrong !
My UO: I hate when people post on the daily threads when it's not that day anymore. So sorry the Wednesday ship has sailed - no WTFs for you on a Thursday!
My UO: I hate when people tell me how lucky I am that my husband works out of town. We are lucky because we both have careers and are able to provide for our coming child. When DH is out of town I am stressed, depressed, and just overall feel terrible. The reason I married the man is because I love being around him, not being apart from him!
@noelietrex YES please give them an ear full. I totally would, but I have no control over my tongue .. Especially now. I cannot stand dumb @ss sexist remarks - that does not fly around me.
Apparently this is an UO at my work: when people are clearly on their lunch break, leave them the eff alone! No, it's not the time to take up their whole lunch time reading an article word for word to them, nor is it the time to discuss work. I am punched out, let me have my time!
@MamaBish AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love open door policies except when it's lunch time and my office door is closed. What makes you think I want to take in clients or take phone calls?
Here's my REALLY UO: I used to love, love, love me some Kanye. Now I'm mad at him for acting being a jackass and an overall hot ass mess, BUT I still really want to listen to The Life of Pablo. And I've been contemplating getting Tidal just to listen to it.
Those weight posts are waaaayyy too much about a not so humble brag. "How much have you ladies gained?? Lolz, I can't believe I am only up two pounds at 30 weeks!"
first, how does anyone's elses weight affect your and your weight? Second, some people gain a crap ton and lose it all really quickly once baby is born, while others who only gained 15-20 can struggle with getting rid of that for years. Third, I always think in my head after someone starts one of those posts, the the OP ends up gaining 50 pounds in the last trimester.
I agree with everything RE: weight and weight comparison posts. One of my PT clients is 23 weeks (I'm 20) and yesterday she was talking about that and asked me about my weight gain and wondering why hers was this and mine was that and whatever and I just can't. I shut that convo down fast.
My UO: I do not like Adele's music. It's sooooo whiny! She's got a great voice but ughh it all sounds the same! Idk, I don't get the hype.. But then again, I love Beyoncé. To each his own.
@rakel88 I can't STAND Adele. The other day she was on 3(!!) of our radio stations on my way to work and I just had to turn the radio off. It drives me nuts. I also share @noelietrex's opinion... I am so sick of people assuming I'm not going back to work after my baby is born.. Crazy sexist.
I don't think that the "participation trophy" is "ruining todays youth" or that it's the "worst thing" to happen to children by learning "entitlement." I get what the argument is, I just don't agree with it. I think things like poverty, witnessing domestic violence, being abused or neglected, being in a household with addiction are probably a shit ton worse than getting a trophy at the end of the year. Kids are gonna learn that shit happens, you don't always get to win, you sometimes fail and sometimes you try your best and it's not good enough regardless of whether they play sports or not- I never once played a sport but ya know, life has a funny way of kicking your ass regardless and putting you in your place. The only people that seems to give a shit about the trophy is the parent anyway... kids usually just wanna play the sport and have fun with their friends and have bragging rights than some piece of junk sitting on a shelf somewhere. I think that instilling in kids that there's value in showing up for practice, being on time, putting forth effort, being a good team mate, understanding rules or strategies, problem solving, enjoying the time with friends, learning how to work with someone you don't like or agree with, etc etc etc are all pretty awesome lessons- and if a trophy at the end celebrates that I just don't see how that's a bad thing.

@AAAG13 what?? People say that? All of the friends I have with husbands who work out of town hate it and would much prefer him home every night, even it there was a bit of a pay cut. Crazy logic - who WANTS their partner gone for extended periods of time?

Someone who isn't happy with their SO maybe? *shrugz I find it weird to say that someone is lucky when their SO is not around. I guess people don't know how to find alone time even with someone else in the house
@noelietrex I agree and think it's obnoxious to imply that either parent should stay home (although I do agree there's an added extremely sexist element to assuming the mother will/should quit working - no one has ever asked DH if he's taking parental leave or going to be a SAHD). Obviously, if both parents are continuing to work it's either because a) they financially cannot have a parent stay home or b) their careers are important to them and they are choosing to work (or a combination of both, like in my case. If I could easily get back into nursing after 5-10 years not working, and we could afford it, I would consider that. But neither are true for us so back to work I went, as I don't want to give up my career permanently).
Do these people think you've just never thought of the possibility of staying home? Obviously everyone knows that's a hypothetical option when they become parents. If someone was complaining to me about difficulty finding childcare it would never even cross my mind to respond "Oh I know! Why don't you stay home?" because I would assume they had already discussed and dismissed that option for whatever reason is applicable to them, hence trying to organize childcare.
I fell in love with Bieber's new song during the grammy's. Not sure if this is more of an UO or WTF Wednesday. BAHAHAHA
Edited because I was just too d@mn excited and forgot some words.
I didn't watch the Grammy's, so I went and googled what songs he sang. He didn't sound that great to me. The songs on his cd are 100% better. DS even sings "love yourself" lol
Your perception of someone's suicidal ideation does not change how that person feels/felt. Ever since Rhonda Rousey was on Ellen, people on my Facebook have been saying that she is just a poor loser and that she couldn't possibly have had suicidal thoughts. Clearly it was a stressor for her which triggered something in her. We all react differently to different stressors, and mood disorders and suicidal ideation have a genetic component. Her father committed suicide, so you can see that there could be a possible genetic link. I just don't like it when people think that theirs is the only possible view
@blissylissy86 Thank you. I'll admit I was shocked when I read about her struggle after the fight, but my reaction was more 'Holy crap, she's such a bad ass I can't even fathom her being emotionally beat down like that!'

I was blown away by it too but actually thought how courageous and brave she was for speaking about it. Maybe it helped someone watching it reach out for help. Fuck anyone that gave her shit for it.
