Help.. please..

Oh my word, girls.  This nausea is the pits.  It's constant, all day, all consuming nausea that only goes away when I'm sleeping and even then I'm dreaming about all the foods I want and can't eat when I'm awake.  So, what are you all doing for relief?  I've eaten so many lemon drops that I've given myself sores in my mouth, crackers only cut it for a few minutes, I started taking b6 today.  I try to eat small meals, several times a day and just start feeling like garbage afterward.  I don't necessarily want to take Zofran if I can avoid it, but seriously this is terrible.  I feel like I have the puke flu all day long. HELP!

  • I picked up ginger hard candies at bed bath & beyond, they have been helpful. Otherwise I just try to eat small bites/snacks very hour or so. I get nauseous when I get too hungry.

  • Candy canes/peppermint candy. I had what you're talking about for 4 days but luckily had a break from it for the most part today. It really is exhausting. Hope you can find something that helps.

  • Ask your doctor about Diclegis, my friend said it's a miracle pill.
  • I'm so sorry, I deeply empathize with you. I am struggling right now with not feeling bitter over how bad I have been feeling, it's just been relentless. I will say that protein makes me feel better, for example, greek yogurt in the morning (while I don't necessarily love greek yogurt) seems to help. I have been trying to stay really hydrated, eat small meals that are protein rich, and not let myself get too hungry or it just makes the whole day really bad. Hang in there, I've always heard sick mommy = healthy baby. It's hard, but you will get through it.
  • Diclectin  is amazing  and totally  helped me in the past.
Small bites of innocous food and ginger gravol.

  • I am in the same board and it swear it gets worse by the day. Sea-bands, preggo pops, ginger tea, small meals, it all fails me. Started my diclegis tonight and I ate my first food besides saltines in 2 days.  Hoping tomorrow is better. I recommend you talk to your provider about it. It's the only category A and meant just for pregnancy nausea.

  • I'm so sorry for all you ladies. I don't have the nausea myself yet, but when I was a teen I'd spend a day out of every period lying on the bathroom floor and puking. My go-tos were Gingerale, sometimes Sprite, Gatorade, pretzels and jello. This might sound bizarre but when you vomit jello, it just tastes like... Jello. So if you have to be sick at least it's pleasant-ish. :( Hope you all feel much better soon!
  • @Paturkey  I was just wondering what doesn't taste as bad coming up.  Stomach bile is terrible and chicken toquitos are worse.  I just bought a box of saltines.  If I eat something as soon as I wake up or feel nauseous, it usually goes away.  This leaves me eating little bits all day long!

  • Watermelon! Its mostly water so it isn't difficult to throw up, and tastes way better than saltines all day. Lots of electrolytes and a good way to stay hydrated and grt some nutrients when you can't keep anything down.
  • gingerale, sour patch kids

  • I took Zofran around the clock with my last pregnancy for the first 20 weeks because the nausea for me was debilitating. I couldn't do my job, I could barely walk around. This pregnancy is better so far but I did wake up in the middle of the night feeling terrible last night (and this stupid cold doesn't help) so I took a Zofran so I could get some sleep. However I just called my dr. About the diclegis instead of Zofran... I would feel much better taking that if/when needed! Thanks to those who posted about it.

But in my response to the OP, def call your doctor to discuss medicine, maybe the diclegis will help? Hugs!

Thanks for all the ideas ladies.. and I'm sorry that so many are in the same boat.  I've never felt this crappy with any of my other pregnancies so this is uncharted territory for me.  I gagged down breakfast this am and took another b6 and then ate some crackers and food actually sounds GOOD right now.  So I'm going to panera to get mac and cheese! Hopefully I  don't regret it, but holy Moses it sounds good right now! :) I see my doc on Monday so I'll ask him about meds if I don't feel like the b6 is helping!  Thanks again :
  • Ugh mine is so bad too. I hate throwing up so I try to avoid that at all costs! But I'm on zofran and that is not even helping right now. I feel like I'm constantly hung over. I'm dizzy, my head feels like it's in a bubble and every time I move I feel like death. I have two babies at home so this is making life hard. Someone told me today to try to eat more protein and fatty foods. Stay away from sugary foods. So I'm going to try that. I hope you feel better!
  • Definitely right there with you. :(  Morning sickness is no joke.  Even a few days of it is miserable, but weeks on end can just suck the life right out of you.  I was on zofran last pregnancy from about weeks 8-18.  It really never took away the nausea and vomiting, just took the edge off.  And on top of it, it gave me the most horrible constipation, I vowed to not touch the stuff this time around.  I was just prescribed diclegis...I took 2 last night, and feel no difference today.  Hoping it'll kick in soon because I have dd to take care of this time around.  And I know it'll get much worse before it gets better.  Hang in there everyone. :(

  • Ugh, at least we can all sympathize with each other - this part of pregnancy is the worst in my book!  I had to stay home from work yesterday because every movement made me feel like vomiting.  And so much worse when you have a toddler at home to look after!  I had MS with my DS, but it was only in the morning and as long as I kept food in my system, I was fine.  This go-around, I am sick ALL. DAY. LONG.  And not much seems to help.  It's so debilitating!  But what is helping a little is ginger ale, lemon tea (caffeine free), soda crackers, salty chips, pretzels, peanut butter, and Ramen Noodles.  And absolutely, under no circumstances...meat.  Seriously, the thought right now...  And of course last night I swear all they played on TV were Subway commercials!

  • Yep I'm on board with you all. It is horrible and all day. I've tried ginger ale, ginger candies and ginger tea and still keeping nothing down. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I've never experienced anything like this Ever before. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry  :'(  I even had to tell my bosses early because I've been caught bowing to the porcelain God at work so many times smh.
  • I'm also on the ginger and grazing on bland food plan. I found the bubbles and sugar in the ginger ale were making me burp, and really messing with my blood sugar.  I switched to ginger tea and it's been much better.
