Saying goodbye

Hi,

I've been a lurker here on this page for a couple weeks as I waited to see what would happen with my pregnancy.
Unfortunately today when I had my sonogram they couldn't find my baby's heartbeat.

Even though this pregnancy was unexpected my husband and I were so happy and now I am devestated. How can you miss someone you've never met so much? It's all the grief for what could have been and knowing I'll never hold this baby in my arms.

So good luck mommies and give your bellies an extra pat tonight because each baby is a gift.

I'll keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. Not sure if you've been through this before but I promise--even though it might be the very darkest you've ever felt, time will start to bring you comfort. I hope you and your husband can turn to each other and other supportive folks in your life for some small comfort in the meantime. I hope you've able to give yourselves the space you need to feel everything that comes up--from the sadness to the anger to the small moments of happiness when they start to creep back in--and know that you'll be ok in the end.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I had a similar early pregnancy loss myself late last year, and just found out I am pregnant again. This is a terribly dark and sad time and I wish I had more words to comfort you. You are in my prayers.

Thank you all. I appreciate the kind words and prayers. I knew it would hurt if I ever lost a baby but I had no idea how much. Much sympathy for anyone that's walked this road, especially more than once.

Erica, I'm SO sorry, sweetie! My early MC from last year REALLY hit me hard so I definitely know what you're feeling! As you can see in my siggy, I've had 4 losses and it definitely doesn't get easier each time. I only found comfort in knowing that God has a plan for us and if it wasn't meant to be then it wasn't going to happen. Don't lose hope, girlie. Keep your bond strong with your Hunny and before you know it, you'll be celebrating again soon. We were NTNP since August of last year and I knew that whenever the time was right, it would happen. I'm sorry for your loss. I had an early loss summer and I understand the grief you are going through right now. A support group was really helpful for me. I was able to share all that I was feeling and learned that I wasn't alone. You are not alone. Your little one has changed your life. You and your husband can get through this.
