  • Weeks: 12w2d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Midwife appointment on Wednesday.  Should have partial results from NT scan.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
We had an amazing 12 week ultrasound on Friday.  The baby looked great. He/she was measuring on track, was waving at us, and had the same profile as my DD did in utero!  We could already see the spine developing.  I think DH and I were both relieved, and now I am getting excited about this baby.  I told my bosses and they were very supportive.

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet?
Not especially superstitious, although I guess I am a little - I definitely held off buying anything until the 12 week ultrasound.  I think we'll probably wait until after the anatomy scan to purchase the things we need (a sit and stand stroller, and boys clothes if it is a boy!).

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): had an appt on Monday, good results from NT scan and heard a strong heartbeat. We have an elective scan on Saturday to find out the sex.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I feel much more at peace with this pregnancy now that I've made it to 14w, I'm vowing to finally tell work this week.

    Questions? Nope

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet? I haven't bought anything yet, I'm not sure when I will, but I just don't feel quite ready to commit to buying anything. I'm not sure if it's superstition or just cautiousness. Maybe when we find out the sex I'll start to be more willing.

  • Weeks: 15

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): I have my 16 week appointment next week and it can't come soon enough. I've been having cramps since yesterday off and on, and it's really making me nervous.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm just ready to hear the heartbeat again. I think I'll buy a sonogram... Positive vibes to everyone!

Questions? Do you think cramps are concerning? Anyone else experience this?

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet? I don't know if I'm superstitious but I haven't bought anything yet. I've looked at baby boy clothes several times since finding out it's a boy, and I'll probably buy his first outfit soon.

  • @1faceinacrowd I've been experiencing period-like cramps and back pain for the past few days. I called my OB about it in a panic and they said it's perfectly normal as long as you're not bleeding or in severe pain. They told me I was probably either feeling growing pains or was dehydrated so I needed to double my water intake. So I believe it's normal and nothing to be concerned about. Just make sure you're drinking a lot of water. Of course it hasn't stopped me from worrying, though!

    Weeks: 14w1d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): My next appointment where I get to hear the heartbeat again is on March 1. I just hope I can make it until then.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I believe I lost it over the weekend as some of you have seen in other threads. My anxiety has been at its peak and I can't stop having panic attacks and I can't calm down. I keep thinking my baby has died or that something is wrong, and it doesn't help that I'm having cramps. I had an early miscarriage last time so I almost feel like I don't have the right to be this panicked and scared, but it hasn't stopped me from doing so. I'm beginning to wonder if it would have been better for me to adopt, which sounds terrible. Hopefully within the next week I relax more and start to enjoy this pregnancy. I thought once the second trimester came I would, but it hasn't happened yet.

Questions? Anyone else going as crazy as I am?

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet? I'm honestly really afraid to buy anything for the baby. I've started my registry for my shower, but I've only added a couple things on there. I'm so afraid of losing this baby too that I'm afraid to get excited. I'm even not looking forward to the anatomy scan (other than seeing the baby) because I know if I find out the sex, then our baby will officially have a name (we have a name picked out for each sex) and if it has a name, then I'll get extremely attached.
  • Weeks: 15w3d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Elective ultrasound on Thursday to find out if it's a boy or girl!

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Still don't have a real baby belly, waiting for this belly to pop! I can feel little flutters and felt one big kick. So many positive vibes to everyone!

    Questions? Nope.

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet? I can be a little superstitious sometimes, but haven't been too much with this baby. Already have a few gender neutral outfits and have a few toys.

What's next (milestones, appointments, something you're looking forward to):
Checkup yesterday, next appointment isn't until March 3. This will be the longest stretch so far in between appointments, now that we've graduated from the RE.

    Rant/rave/positive vibes:

Yesterday was a frustrating experience at my OB appt. The nurse first tried to find the HB via Doppler but couldn't find it. She admitted she wasn't very good at finding HBs and I had just found it the day before, so I wasn't *too* nervous at first -- but then again, that's exactly how we lost our last one, also at exactly 13 weeks, and also after finding it myself a couple days prior. The doctor came in and asked if we wanted to go straight to ultrasound or if we wanted her to give it a try with a Doppler. I asked to go straight to ultrasound, all the while panic starting to seep in more and more. She was like, let me try quickly first (um, why did you ask me then?). Thankfully she was able to find it quickly, and then let us get a peek on u/s after anyway. So everything is fine, but we were annoyed that they would send someone inexperienced into do the Doppler the first time, given our history, and that this is exactly what happened last time, only without a happy ending.

    Questions?

GTKY: Are you superstitious about buying anything for baby? Have you bought anything yet?
I'm not superstitious in the sense that I think buying something will make me lose the baby. But I am very cautious about buying anything or making plans just knowing how much it sucks to have those reminders around the house IF something were to go wrong.

  • @bananers How frustrating and a bit insensitive on their part!  Glad they were able to find the h/b and gave you an ultrasound, in the end, though.  I am a bit jealous that the doctors in the US have ultrasound equipment in-house. None of the doctors or midwives have them here.  Even if you go to an OB at the hospital, you have to wait an hour or more before getting an ultrasound because it is a different office and the techs can't tell you anything, so you have to go back to meet with your doctor to get the results (annoying!).

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): My appointment with my doctor tomorrow and I am looking forward to hearing the heartbeat.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I find myself clinging to my St. Gerard metal and send positive vibes

    Questions? Nothing

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet?

I found out we are having another girl...which means I can put off buying too much! I am a bit superstitious about buying maternity clothes.

  • Weeks: 13w 6d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): Next appt is next week and my PGAL brain is getting bad again so it can't come fast enough. I know most of my worries are irrational but it doesn't make them go away.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I kind of have a bump now so I was really excited and it made me feel a little better. I've been cramping too and I'm trying to remind myself it just means baby is growing.

    Questions?

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet? I don't know if its superstitious but I haven't really had the desire to buy anything for baby yet. I think it may be more about not really having much energy left after work and what little housework I've been able to get done. Maybe when my energy returns I'll be more into it.
  • Weeks: 13+1 What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): should get the results of our genetic tests this week or early next (bonus will get to find out sex!). Had my 12 week appointment and got to hear heartbeat so at least I know baby is alive in there! I don't get another ultrasound until 20 weeks though!! Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: parents keep bugging us about when they can tell more people, I'm just not ready! I'm thinking if everything looks good with genetic tests maybe I will try to tell work and give parents the all clear to go ahead and blab to their hearts content. I actually felt better about telling some people this time, but am struggling with the letting the big wide world know. Anyone else? Questions? None. GTKY:Are you superstitious about buying things for baby? Have you bought anything yet? Haven't bought anything yet. Last pregnancy I basically made a while registery then had to delete it. Starting to feel more confident though, so I have started playing around with registery/looking at nursery inspirations, names, etc, but have not bought anything yet. Was tempted by a great stroller deal on Craigslist though!
  • Weeks: 16w1d

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): anatomy scan at 20w the tech couldn't get a clear image at 16w appt so we are anxious for 20. And we get blood test results this week for the baby as well.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: found out baby is a boy yesterday! So excited!

    Questions?

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet? The only thing I have bought is a fetal Doppler and a few pieces of maternity clothing. Now that I know it's a boy I'll probably buy stuff. I wasn't superstitious about buying anything but now before I buy anything I'll probably think about this post and panic. Ha.
  • @crob5685 I keep chickening out on telling people too, especially work. I have told my boss but that's it. I have had multiple opportunities to spill the beans to the rest of the team but I just can't bring myself to do it.

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to):
Had my 4 month appt on Friday and was very happy to hear the heartbeat. Anatomy scan is set for mid-March. Results from DH's blood test hopefully soon.

    Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
I've had an upset stomach the last few days and have been uncomfortable in general. Hoping it's all good signs.

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet?
Somewhat. I'm not planning on buying anything for a while longer since I think it's early to be making decisions on big purchases. I've bought and am wearing maternity dresses and a pair of jeans. I'm trying to act confidently.

  • Weeks: 15

What's next? (milestones, appointments, something you are looking forward to): next OB appointment is on the 29th. Felt something that might be flitters, but not sure.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  fewer symptoms but not feeling the movement yet is making my PGAL Brain a little crazy.  Back ache is even worse, getting back spasms it us awful.

I am also hesitating on announcing, for now we are telling people one at a time.

Questions?  Anyone else having trouble relaxing and letting yourself think ahead and enjoy.

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet?  Not superstitious but not ready. Not really ready to think more than a week ahead.  But my sister is sending us a box of hand me downs I hope it will help DH and I think a little more ahead.  I do have a very cute pair of booties.
  • @liljabee that's what we are doing. I love social media for some reasons but before social media women didn't have to make a big public announcement to the world. However, my childhood best friend (whom I don't speak to but a couple times a year) didn't announce on social media and I found out she was pregnant when she was 38 weeks lol. Made me realize I should maybe pick up the phone more often an rely on social media less.

    Weeks:  14 weeks

What's next?  OB apt at 16 weeks, nothing really then until the A/S.  I hope I start feeling some movement maybe because I know I should be past the PGAL first trimester brain but its still tough going so long.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  I'm going to gain so much weight.  Oh well.

    Questions?  Discharge sucks.

GTKY:  Are you superstitious about buying things for baby?  Have you bought anything yet?  We are starting to get a few things sorted out.  I bought one little gown but thats it.  We are going to find out the gender later so hopefully we can buy more then.

ETA:  We finally told our other two kids, my oldest was really excited.  We emailed around a link to the youtube video.  I finally told work but still nothing on social media.

  • @ThisisNumber3  A pregnant friend once told me the discharge was terrible, she had to wear pads/liners. So whenever I see it I'm actually really happy since I take it as a good sign of normal pregnancy. Weird I know.

Whats next: anatomy/20w scan on March 16th. NT scan @13w measured wnl and found the hb right away on the doppler last Thurs. This is so surreal!

Rants/Raves/positive vibes: still nauseas and exhausted but not as bad. Im starting back into yoga but only 2x a week. Finally told work today. Families and friends now know but no big/social media announcement. I guess I am a bit superstitious

GTKY: I have not purchased any official maternity clothes, but some looser tops and a bella band. Nothing for baby, maybe after the 20w scan. I feel like I still have so much time.
