October 2016 Moms

For the people who feel like crap (like myself)...

Morning (all day sickness) sucks. I'm really having a hard time being pregnant, it has not been enjoyable one moment. I feel like crap 24 hours a day. I found this article that made me feel a little bit better about my current situation. So if morning sickness is beating you up daily - read this! https://www.today.com/parents/morning-sickness-pregnancy-has-surprising-upside-1D80007975

Re: For the people who feel like crap (like myself)...

  • I'm in the same boat here. Luckily today I'm feeling better than I have in a week, so fingers crossed. It really is exhausting battling MS 24/7 :( hoping you find some relief.

Like @LGW2015 said, my MS has also subsided a bit today. Could be because my flu is on it's way out as well, and I'm hopefully on a general upswing. That being said, my MS has mostly been in the afternoon, so we shall see what happens.
  • I'm sure we will all appreciate this in a few months, but right now I'm still too miserable to enjoy it.

  • No morning sickness, just fatigue and everything tastes disgusting.  Also super congested, not being able to pop a dayquil or nyquil means I'm one miserable mama.
  • After feeling like crap for 8 days (basically like a really bad hangover with super queasy stomach), I felt really good yesterday and I was terrified that the m/s disappearing meant that the pregnancy wasn't viable. Fortunately (?) I feel like complete ass again today. Now I wish I felt like I did yesterday. Ugh, I just want to be through all this nonsense and feel good and have a baby.

  • After feeling super nauseous for about 5 days during week 5, I spoke to my doctor and she recommended Diclegis (2 pills/night). It's definitely helped, although I still feel sick around dinnertime - the dose can be increased to 4 pills/day, but I'm going to stick with this dose for a while longer. There's no need to suffer, it really does help!!!

  • @LizD317 I have my first appointment tomorrow so I am hoping my doctor offers it. I'm always hesitant to try new drugs that haven't been out for that long - but I might just have to take the risk. I need to be normal again.
  • @octobermom16 if it makes you feel any better, I read that it's been in use in Canada for a few years under a similar name.  Diclectin maybe?  Not to imply there's zero risk, but being a class a drug for pregnancy makes me feel better.

  • That wonder drug Dic-whatever-it-is, is also just unisom and vitamin b6. So you can get it without a prescription, but talk to your doctor first!

  • I feel pretty awful right now, I am tired but wide awake because I feel crabby! Thankfully I have only thrown up once I have been doing everything I can not to but tonight its been harder to hold back, I know if I throw up I am going to feel awful and I am super worried if I start again I won't stop for awhile, last time I was pregnant it would get I would get red blotches on my face from losing my lunch so violently (ugh tmi sorry)
  • I am so so so so sick. I don't know how I am going to make it through the next 6 weeks.

If I bend over I get queasy. If I move I feel like I'm going to hurl. If I move too much I do hurl.

My 3 year old appreciates the tv time but I feel like a terrible mom right now.

  • I'm nauseous all the time, but I only puke if I go into a public bathroom (so far), the smell makes my sick feeling worse to the point I can't keep it down... I never realized how nasty public bathrooms were until I got the pregnant nose. YUCK!

I'm TOTALLY with you on that one! I have been getting such crappy sleep for the last 2 nights since I can't breathe. I'm so miserable!! This sounds crazy, but I'd trade morning sickness for not being able to breathe right and have all this dang sinus congestion and headache.  :'(

  • Hi all. I'm not nauseous yet because I'm pretty early, but I've been feeling super tired. And my nose is really congested. I've found for congestion that sniffing peppermint oil really helps clear out my sinuses. The fatigue is probably the most brutal symptom... and I haven't found any good solutions for that yet. It seems like no matter how much I sleep I'm still tired. Hang in there ladies.

I put some Peppermint Oil in my diffuser the other night but I don't feel like it did much. I'm gonna try to see if a few good sniffs works better. I just wanna be able to breathe and not have this darn sinus headache.

  • I feel so bad my my husband - I am being so crabby. I feel sick all the time. 7 weeks now and sick since week 4. Don't want to take any medications though; I don't like taking them. I think of it as what I have to go through for my babe. Thanks for posting this article.
  • Nausea was kicking my ass until I started taking ginger pills and B6 together. Once in the morning, once in the afternoon. I don't feel 100% but definitely better.

  • I have so much work to do today...but I feel so awful.
  • I gave into the unisom/b6 combo starting two nights ago and the difference is incredible. I am using a pill cutter and splitting the 25mg unisom and 100mg b6 into quarters and taking 1 of each 3 times per day. So, just about 6.25mg unisom and 25mg b6. My first appointment with my midwife is in a week and a half and I'll ask for the actual diclegis then, but this is working like a charm in the meantime! I was so happy to eat almost normally yesterday!

  • Does the unisom make you sleepy?
  • I am feeling sick all day every day.  Nothing is helping. .. not b6/unisom and not even zofran :(
