Baby rash

So tonight my 20 week old babe has a rash on her cheek. I started worrying it was from her squash but I looked back at a picture from this morning and saw she had it then as well it had just gotten worse. Her face has been super itchy and she is rubbing her eyes a lot. I'm assuming now that it's an allergy and I have had our windows open. My question is should I call her ped and take her in or just watch it? I don't want to be that crazy momma rushing her kid in for nothing but I also don't know what to do for her.

Re: Baby rash

  • Lurker from d15-
wheh my ds was about that age he would get rashes all the time- turned out he had an egg allergy we were unaware of & it was trace cross contamination. I'd call just in case. My pedi recc benedryl & we got a script for an epi-pen just incase.
    good luck!!

  • If it seems to be bothering her and you can't pinpoint what's causing it I would call her ped just in case. I would personally rather have some peace of mind than worry about her. My son had a really bad rash on his face/scalp that ended up being eczema but I took him in because I wasn't sure at the time and he seemed horribly uncomfortable. Now we have it all under control and I don't have to worry about it :D good luck!!
  • Did the rash go away? My LO had a little rash today - little red specks on his cheek and behind one ear (bothing raised). I'm pretty sure it was just heat related though (we are in Phoenix and it's been a bit toasty!) - it appeared after he was laying on that side to nurse and then went away after about 30 minutes. Going to keep an eye on it, but in fairly certain it is nothing. There are also some helpful photo lists of common baby rashes that I found via Google search!
