Who (in your opinion) has the BEST freebies for starting a registry with them?

Meh it's mostly samples. BRU & Target both give a nice swag bag. Also be sure to ask for your trimester gifts at your OB office.

I personally am doing a buy buy baby registry solely for the completion bonus. We only have maybe 10 things on there and we plan to buy it all ourselves. it's a double monitor, new baby bath and a standing board for our current stroller, nothing we "need" as gifts. I may add some other stuff I intend to buy before the baby comes. It was nice getting some big ticket items from family for DS but we are capable of providing everything we need for this one. But I never turn down a good discount!!

1st trimester got a journal and all kinds of sample stuff. Also some pregnancy magazines.

2nd trimester more samples, magazine and now formula.

Not registry completion, but I got a FitPregnancy magazine, and with it came a bunch of coupons for free stuff, like nursing pillow, carseat canopy, udder cover, baby carrier, baby leggings, nursing pads, and belly bands. All you pay is shipping! If anyone wants those coupon codes, let me know.

Buy Buy Baby also gives a nice little bag. Mine had mostly samples and coupons, but it had a small container of formula, a bottle and a newborn pacifier as well.

Target was the best in my book because they sent me an entire booklet of 10% off coupons(technically to give out but I used them) and one 20% off coupon I believe. Also it's good for anything that's on your registry and you can put anything in the store on it so we bought groceries and things using them. I couldn't really care less about all the samples because I don't use them, I always forget I have them.
