Lower Back Pain?

This is my first pregnancy and I'm at 14 weeks today and I've been experiencing severe lower back pain especially at night while in bed. Has anyone else experienced this? I've invested in once of those Leachco Snoogle pillows (ordered it online so it's on the way) and I've heard a heating pad might help too. Are there any other suggestions? I've been taking Tylenol to help with the pain too, but obviously don't want to keep popping pills my whole pregnancy.

  • You may want to do a search.  It's been discussed on here a couple of times and lots of times on other BMB.

  • @Nmarra823 - Very common. I actually emailed my Dr. about lower back pain last week because I was feeling concerned, and he reassured me all was probably fine. When I've experienced it, I've found that making an effort to get up, walk around, and stretch many times throughout the day helped keep the discomfort to a minimum. Warm baths and/or showers also help.

  • @Nmarra823 this is my second pregnancy and my back is killing me! I wouldn't worry yourself unless you are bleeding or having other issues.
And unfortunately I have only experienced worse pain as the pregnancy has progressed. I went to my OB yesterday and mentioned it she said that I should look into a chiropractor (I would Check with your OB before doing so but def ask!) and she said to try and stretch some. But she also said, just enjoy it lol it's pregnancy! I'm uncomfortable at night too! You aren't alone girl. Hang in there. I've used a heating pad also, it does help, and I try not to use Tylenol a lot as well.
