Re: How often do you use your doppler

  • For me it varies. Usually just a couple times per week, but I'm 13 weeks today which is when we lost our last baby so I've bee using it every day this past week. I use it more when PGAL brain is in full effect, that's for sure.

  • I was at the doc today.  They have yet to find the heartbeat on the doppler.  They tried at 12w and again today at 15w.  They ordered u/s and everything is fine.  I won't be getting a doppler for that reason.  If doc can't find it, no way I trust myself to.
  • I wish I hadn't purchased one because I still can't find the heartbeat at 14 weeks. I use it twice a day because I have PGAL brain as well and am so afraid of something going wrong.

Were you able to get a hold of your OB for a quick peek/sanity check?

  • Yes, the nurse finally called me back. I was feeling an odd pressure and some cramping over the weekend so informed her of that as well. She said she would speak to the doctor but said she didn't think I would have anything to worry about. Looks like they're going to make me wait until my March 1 appointment, which is unfortunate.
  • @JournoGrl23 I'm glad they don't think it's anything to worry about, but don't be afraid to specifically ask for a check. Your sanity is important too.

  • @bananers that's very true. I spent my weekend panicking so I'm going to try really hard to remain calm and think positively for the next two weeks. But if I simply can't be calm them I'm going to call back and ask for an immediate appointment.
  • I just ordered my Doppler yesterday. I'll probably use it a few times a week. I too, have experienced a loss, and even though it wasn't my last pregnancy, I still freak out a little. We did hear the heartbeat at the OB's office around the 11 week point, and then saw the baby moving around in the ultrasound a week later. I'm still so nervous though!
