Anyone else not had heir beta yet?

Needless to say, I am scared shitless to even be on this board. Because I triggered this month, there is still a percentage of me that is freaking about my BFPs being residual HCG left over from the trigger. But I got 2 positive digitals, my wondfo was darker this morning than yesterday, and my FRER was about the same as yesterday. *insert clever comment about the amount of tests taken in one morning*

My beta isn't scheduled until next MONDAY. I have 5 more days of freaking out to do. Anyone else in a similar situation?

  • You ladies are doing much better at being publicly calm than I am! Lol

@MRSCORKER we are the same dpo right? 11?

@PeggyOlsonFTW I couldn't even imagine waiting more weeks than I already have to. Kudos to you, mama!
  • Just waiting til first appointment which isn't even scheduled yet. I go in at 10 a.m. to start getting this show on the road though.
  • I'm having to wait til the end of the month at 10 weeks to be seen at all, and get the u/s that day. The wait is driving me crazy!!!!

  • How many days has it been since your trigger? I know every body is different, but I was still getting faint positives 10-12 days after the trigger.

The waiting sucks, I know. I'm sorry.

  • @missteacherlady16 I am 13 days post trigger. I've gotten non-squinted positives since 11 days post trigger. And yes, I'm with an RE since we had to go via several IUIs. I just see a lot of numbers and I'm half excited and half worried.

It sounds encouraging! But I don't want to blow smoke up your ass, either. I know the waiting sucks, but at least when you go on Monday you will definitely know if it worked or not. Fx that it did!

  • My OB doesn't do betas, not sure if this is because this is my first pregnancy or not, but I have to wait till March for my first appointment so trust me I understand the nerves! I have had moments of breakdowns thinking it all isn't real. Just try to stay calm and wait, way easier said then done I know!

  • Did you test out the trigger and get negatives before the positive? (Sorry if that's a dumb question- I've been newly exposed to the IUI world through friends.) FX for great news on Monday!!

  • Another one with no betas. I won't have non-HPT confirmation until my dating scan between 11-13 weeks, which is end March-early April. FX for you that it's not the trigger and good luck staying distracted until Monday!

Are you working with an RE? If not, then that's why you're not getting betas.

RE's will monitor early pregnancy after fertility dx/treatment.

  • @TNgoldengirl I tested 8 days post trigger and did not see a line. So even if it was a squinter, it was much lighter than what I am getting now. I think this is just my self-defensive mechanism of not getting hurt IF it turned out to not be what we think it is.

Thank you all for the replies! It's nice knowing I'm not the only one worrying!
  • Not working with an RE, so no betas for me.

OP, from my very limited, non-medical experience everything you are saying sounds encouraging. Fingers crossed for you.

  • My OB ran beta and progesterone. We don't have an RE, but it did take us 3 years to conceive, so maybe she was just being cautious.

  • And just kind of like a PSA to others: it's my understanding that most OBs won't do betas. Most women here that are getting them done on the regular are under the care of an RE. So if you're not seeing an RE and you're not getting betas every other day or so, don't panic. Trust me, it's more nerve racking than anything.

This. Betas can cause unnecessary worry so lots of OBs don't do them.

I said it was generally a rule but not exclusive. You're probably being monitored through earlier pregnancy because it took you over a year to conceive.

ETA: are you having betas done every other day or two?

I had my first beta test Monday and I'm heading to the office for the next round in about an hour. I'm not under the care of an RE but I have a history of miscarriage so the OB is monitoring me closely. I couldn't sleep last night with the anxiety!
  • @missteacherlady16 I wasn't trying to be contradictory, just adding my experience!

They only ran them once at 5w3d, the hcg was 20109 (way above the reference range), so they don't plan to run then again AFAIK. Though they may run progesterone again, IDK.

  • Congratulations, welcome and yay for the IUI working!!! I'm not doing any betas this time around - in fact, I'm not even getting seen until 9 weeks! :-0
Most of my other pregnancies involved betas though and I totally remember that wait after you got a + hpt to get the beta. One thing that is good about waiting till Monday is that your numbers should be nice and high. :) maybe just keep poasing and watching the lines get darker for reassuring in the meantime? I remember one of my IVFs, my RE let me come in a couple days early because I told him I tested positive with a pregnancy test already, maybe you could call and see?

  • Thank you, @quailbeach - I called and they want me to wait until Monday because they will be when "I was supposed to test" and "more accurate" according to my nurse. However, I will keep peeing. Lol.

Thank you for the kind words, it feels very surreal!

I don't have any bloodwork until my initial intake appointment and ultrasound at 8 weeks. Betas are not standard.

  • I had a beta on Monday because I had an ectopic a couple months ago and have had other losses and am spotting. I had a follow up today and will get the results either tonight or tomorrow morning. The first one I wasn't nervous about but this set is really stressing me out and I now have the biggest migraine. Good luck!
  • Sami I feel your anxiety. We are with an RE so with my first pregnancy (IVF) I just peed on a stick every day until my beta. It was comforting to see the lines getting darker every day.
And with this pregnancy (FET) I did the same thing - peed on all the sticks last week until I had my beta on Monday.

  • My dr didn't do betas but I had my first ultrasound yesterday and after the tech was done the radiologist texted and asked for more pictures and now I'm wondering why he needed more pictures and I want to call my doc and ask but I want to give her time to at least look at the pictures so....waiting.  How long do you guys suppose I should wait?

  • We're beta buddies! I did IVF (I'm a surrogate) and am also 4 weeks 2 days, and also got my beta drawn today. Still awaiting results since I use a monitoring clinic as the RE is 4 hours away. My lines have been getting darker since last Tuesday!

great beta numbers, hope mine are similar! Good luck!
  • Good luck @EJChapman123 ! Let me know how yours turns out! We did IUI. :)
  • @samijrichards How long did it take to get your results back, if you don't mind me asking?  I'm getting betas done Thursday as I have late implantation and faint tests at 19dpo and I have to to decide soon whether to cancel a trip or not.
  • @housewifehobbyist I went this morning to my RE and she had them to me by 12:30pm. But everywhere is different and we still have to go get one more.
  • @housewifehobbyist

I get my #'s back by 2pm the day of blood draw but that's unusual for my area just a benefit of having a specialist.  Usual is 24 -48 hours for here.
