What is everyone doing today or what have you done this weekend ?! hope everyone and their SO have a wonderful Valentine's Day and enjoy the long holiday weekend ! Xoxo !
We're staying in tonight with DS, but I'm cooking a nice, hearty Sunday night pasta dinner and made a cake. Sometimes we go out for Valentine's Day, but we're both working tomorrow, so it's just not worth the hassle this year.
I made a Valentine's Day breakfast (chocolate chip heart pancakes etc) and gave DH & DS the final heart (they've each had one waiting for them every morning since Feb 1st with something I love about them on it). The guys made me a sweet Valentine. This evening will be dinner at home and some Downton Abbey. We never make a big deal out of it, and I definitely don't want to go anywhere. Maybe I'll order takeout! lol
We're having a lazy Sunday. We did the cheesy stereotypical flowers, candy, cards last night and slept in this morning. We both unfortunately came down with a cold yesterday so we don't really feel like doing much of anything anyway. We'll have a valentines dinner tonight while watching random stuff on Netflix. In the meantime I'm looking forward to lots of napping.
Not much. Making stuffed shells and cookies for dinner. Right now we are just lazing around. I gave up on even expecting a card on vday a few years back, so it's really just another day.
We went out to dinner the other night at the cutest place, it's set to feel like a 1940s supper club. I kept telling him I wanted to get everything out of the nursery so we could get to work on it and when I woke up this morning he had already taken everything out! So now we're working on the nursery and having a lazy day too
We cleaned a bit, he had to go in to work for a few hours while I lay on the couch with congestion and a headache. He made reservations for dinner tonight, I gave him his gift this morning and he is still shopping for mine
DH has to work both night shifts this weekend, so we are keeping any celebrating low key. I got him a new shirt to replace one of his that I accidentally lost last year (that he has never let me forget, because it was TOTALLY his favorite shirt) and his favorite candy to take into work with him. He got me some chocolates and white grape juice (which has seriously been my crack this entire pregnancy and I am so much more excited about than the chocolates tbh) and we are both just relaxing today.
We are just having a lazy, snuggly day on the couch together watching Netflix and I'm making chili for dinner tonight. He made reservations for dinner tomorrow night at the same restaurant where we ate the night he proposed. No gift exchange this year although we're going to look for a stand in ring that I can wear now that I'm too swollen to wear my wedding ring.
We slept in, which was awesome. Well, idk if you can call it "slept in" when I was awake for my standard 330-5am. Made breakfast & spent the morning going through all our wedding stuff to keep/toss the last of the reception leftovers. Planned out our playroom which is further along than our nursery...but I plan to spend a lot more time in that room when baby is a newborn anyway, bc my husband works a lot of overnights & it's a place to go where we won't disturb him if he's trying to sleep. Dinner is an Omaha Steaks compilation...yummmmm. Can't go wrong with their Valentine's Day deals.
Friday night I came home to an early gift....a Snoogle! Felt like I was wrestling with the stay puft marshmallow man for a bit but finally got used to it. Yesterday was flowers and candy and errands for the nursery and today was my card and more nursery. I got him tickets to see Styx in April. Luckily they are at an inside venue so I'll be able to sit down during the show. I've never been a big fan of this "holiday" but DH loves it so I go along with it. Eh. Lol
DH made breakfast and told me to go get a mani/pedi ( haven't had one since October and I can't clip my own toe nails anymore) which was nice . I just picked him up his favorite smoothie and we will work on the nursery until we go to dinner in a little bit . Probably will take a bath tonight . Low key v day , no gifts no cards just being together !

Grape juice is AMAZING and has totally helped sub in for wine, but there's so much sugar! Welch's has high fructose corn syrup but I found one from Roundy's (Copps, Pick n Save, Mariano's, etc) that doesn't. Going to try that one!

I don't live anywhere near a Roundy's or any of those others you listed (I'm from Texas), but I've been making a point to be careful about the available brands over here. I can't believe how ridiculous my cravings for the stuff has been, though - I barely tolerated the stuff before I got pregnant! :P
We went to dinner last night. DH even made reservations! Today I made breakfast then I deep cleaned the house while he demoed a wall and worked on the house. Then we relaxed. DH went to the market to get food for us to cook together. Which is a gift all in its own since I usually do all the grocery shopping and cooking. We did exchange cards but don't do gifts.
We don't celebrate Vday in our house. We try to spend weekends together as much as possible though to unwind from the week. MH surprised me with painting the nursery and baby's bathroom. I love it! Today MH and brothers painted accent walls throughout the house...I think it's MH nesting now because suddenly all the projects have to be done! Now, we are just relaxing together..perfect night.
We went to an infant/child cpr class Saturday, and then cleaned the rest of the day. Today we took a truckload to the Goodwill and cleaned out our sock and underwear drawers. By the time we decided to go out to eat, it had started snowing. We attempted to venture out, but only made it to Walmart. So our dinner was a couple of take out plates from the Walmart deli. Which kind of sucked b/c the lady left out the potato wedges after blatantly lying to me when I asked if they were in there. We got the bucket which comes with wedges. I was pissed, and not b/c she left them out, but b/c she lied about it when I questioned her about it. I don't even like potato wedges much. I was just ticked over the whole lying part of it. We slipped and slid back home. And now we are watching a 1990 classic movie - Problem Child
DH just finished a massive pitch so we actually got to see him this weekend and it's been so relaxing. Lots of playing with DS and trying to stay inside from the cold. We don't usually do gifts but I did receive some beautiful flowers and replaced a belt DH left at the airport last week, and DS got a new toy car. DH made lasagna (my most consistent pregnancy craving) last night and we've been watching Parks and Rec. I love long weekends!
