C section Vs VBACK

Hi everyone. 
so while I am still waiting for my LO to turn head down, I started thinking about the delivery. I was talking to my mom about how I want a VBACK and she said she is really concerned about my baby and ny safety since my older son was born at the end of March of last year. Basically it will be around a year and a month between two deliveries which means more risk of uterine rapture.  
so what would you guys do? what did you do if you were in situation like this?

    I would discuss the pros and cons with my OB and then go from there. I don't know specifics on time frames between births and recommendations. Overall, vaginal birth is safer for mom and baby, but each woman's personal circumstances may dictate otherwise.

    I did it and she basically did not tell me anything. I asked her what would she recommend from the medical point of view She said " best case scenario - successful vbac. possible worst case csenario - uterine rapture whuch is very dangerous. also labor might not progress and we will have to do a c secrion anyway. Planned C section in this case somewhere in the middle between best and worst. " sooooo she was not much help. thats why I am asking here)))  obviously if this LO will be breeched the choice will be made for me but would not hurt to think about my options.

     Surprised your doctor wasn't more helpful. My son was born in February of last year and I asked my doctor the same thing. Right now she said I can try a vaginal delivery but she's watching it because I also have a partial placenta previa which might dictate a scheduled C-section. It is risky and I know I had   to already sign some forms about if I have a uterine rupture. Besides talking to your doctor I would talk to your partner and see how comfortable they are knowing the pros and cons.  I know real so I asked my husband just because it affects his life as well.

    I signed the form and it is still on my fridge. my husband says that it is up to me since whatever I choose comes with the risks. I asked my mom to stay with us when LO is born so in case of CS I can rely on someone to help me with my older son since he is a very big baby - 28 lbs now, will be bigger by april and I will not be able to pick him up after the surgery. But still I can't imagine not to be able to pick him up, that breaks my heart. I guess I should ask my ob again and try getting a streight answer. hope your partial placenta previa will not be on the way of vbac

    I know several of you have mentioned signing VBAC forms because "it's risky". Just remember that you'll have to sign forms for a c section too, which no one mentions. It just may put some people off of a VBAC because it sounds scary when they read that you have to sign consent forms, when you have to sign them for and epidural, c section, etc etc.

    3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3)  - #3 due March 30!

     If it's an emergency C-section you don't sign any forms. Or if you do they came afterwards because I have to tell you no one stopped me from being wheeled to the surgery room when I had to have an emergency C-section,

    Emergency c-section forms are often (not always) one of the entrance forms they have you read and sign when you're admitted, so that you can ask questions. They'll obviously have you sign after, or have your husband sign while they prep you, if you need one immediately upon arrival, but its pretty normal to pre-sign just in case.

    My husband must have signed mine then. Pregnancy and labor have risk no matter what. I would just make the best decision for you and your family.

    I too was debating between a VBAC with this baby or a scheduled c-section. I know you want your doctor to say more, but I think she is just being practical as she can't predict how either will go. Though I am surprised she wouldn't say for sure that she would recommend the c-section since it has been less than 18 months between pregnancies for you. I read a bunch on VBAC and they all said they don't recommend it if it has been less than 18 months between. Anyway, I ended up deciding on the scheduled c-section. My daughter will be just shy of 28 months old when I have my 2nd LO, but since I had an emergency c-section with her cuz she got stuck and didn't even come out with the vacuum (I really was at my wits end after a few hours and asked to try it) and her heart rate dropped a few times, I really didn't want to risk it with this baby. My daughter was small too, only 6lbs 5oz and didn't have a big head so if she got stuck I imagine so will this one. I'm sure he will be bigger as he's a boy and my second. Also, because I was pushing for 2 to 3 hours my tissues were so thinned they had a hard time sewing my tissues back up after my daughter was born. Scared me and my husband as they made him leave the room with our baby girl. I know how worrisome this decision is and I hope you decide what your comfortable with and what you feel is best for you and your baby.

    I hope you will not have such a hard time thia time around. My doc did mention the recommendation of 18 month apart BUT than she said " but people have babies closer than that all the time". My son was a breech baby and small due to neonatal diabetes which should not happen again since it was not inherited neither from me nor my husband. he has a really big head though, like his dad, so that might be the reason why he was breech. 
    by the end of the day we all want our babies to be dlivered safely and that is all that matters. 
    my LO haven't turned head down yet and I have a feeling he won't so most likely c-section it is. good luck with your c-section! ;) I wish you easy recovery

    Thank you so much! I don't think mine has turn head down yet either, but we still have time. :) I certainly hope you have an easier time this time around and an easy recovery as well! I hope your son is doing well. You said he had neonatal diabetes. I don't know much about that so I hope he's doing well.
