Do you ladies have any special plans for Valentine's Day? We typically order to go and stay in to avoid 3 hour waits at restaurants for dinner. We might catch an early movie but it's O weekend so I'm trying to BD with DH. Gotta make this month romantic

lol. Any special recipes you're trying out? Trips? New lingerie?

Fiance works second shift so no special plans.

I'll be spending the day pushing Girl Scout cookies with DD

We're going to take it easy this year. But I did sign us up for a Wine Walk at the park near our house! So that should be fun. Also I know DH has chocolates for me because I was there when he bought them. Ha.

Sounds like fun, I don't drink but I hear tipsy/drunk sex is good haha

We just moved 1300 miles, so plans will include a lot of unpacking and organizing

I'm hoping we can find time to take a break and see deadpool because I'm dying to see it! We usually don't do much for holidays anyways, so I'm not especially bummed about it.
@Lulucooks if you lived in my area, I would happily order some cookies!! I haven't seen any out here yet and my body needs tagalongs.

Different areas of the country start selling cookies at different times. There's an app you can download to see if any girls in your area are selling yet. Girl Scout Locator or Cookie locator, something along those lines.

It may be o weekend for us too..!

I have been so indecisive about plans. First I had reservations at a new steakhouse near us but decided we have more fun at a more reasonably priced place. So then I made reservations for an amazing Ethiopian place downtown. But then DH got a cold and is still getting over it and since it's supposed to be below zero temps, we cancelled those and are just hitting up the local Benihana. Yay!

Re: the OP, we don't have any special plans. Just cook at home and love on each other in this cold, crappy weather.

SO booked us afternoon tea for today but I decided we should cancel, we are lucky enough to be able to go anytime and it is so over priced and it would ruin it for me a little. So instead we wil go to Columbia Road flower market today and SO will buy me some flowers or a plant which will have been inported directly from Holland this morning.

They have the most amazing/beautiful/unsual flowers and plants there, I love it!

DH and I were torn about whether we wanted to go out or keep it low key today. We decided on an early showing of Deadpool before we pick up our fur baby from my dads (he was dog sitting so DH and I could have a night away with friends in the city on Friday) followed by a home cooked dinner and continuation of our re-watch of all of the Star Wars movies.

It might be an o weekend for us (or in the next few days), but I'm stuck working the night shift all weekend til Tuesday morning and he works days (and weekends) and goes to school.

We exchanged cards and got DS a stuffed animal and a bunch of candy.

We are going to a steakhouse for supper and then going to see Deadpool. Its more expensive than staying home and cooking, but it's so cold outside and we are really overdue for a date night.

We were going to go out to dinner at a $$$ restaurant, but instead we went out for all you can eat sushi last night and opted to drink wine all day together today. BUT I just had a temp drop this morning so I also might have O today/tomorrow and would hate to throw off my temps by getting shwasty.

We already did our big thing - went out to dinner last night at my favorite restaurant, which is also where we held our wedding rehearsal dinner. We ended up sitting right across from where our big group sat for the rehearsal dinner, so we kept saying cute things like "the last time we were here, we weren't married!" And "remember the time we sat there and then we got married?" Then we came home and I put on some lingerie and we opened a really fancy bottle of champagne that we got as an engagement gift and had some extremely dirty sex by the fireplace.

Today, we are going out to lunch with my parents (tres romantic!) and then I'm meeting up with two of my girlfriends for a few Galentine's Day brews!

Celebrated DHs birthday Friday and Saturday (because he is a vday baby). Today we are going to the local winery where there is live music, craft fair and wine tastings. Weather is a little chilly (low 60s lol) but we will bring chairs and blankets and sit in the sun

We will be skiing today. Then we will be going to our restaurant where our wedding was held on top of Keystone Mountain. We have one of the first reservations, so there will be no wait. It is soo much fun because you have to go up two gondolas to get to it, it really is on top of the mountain. They also have a German band playing which is corny and fun. I am looking forward to it

Most places have online ordering, however you are supposed to know the Girl Scout to use it. So I couldn't put the info for my DD here for people to order, because it's a public board. It's only supposed to be used for friends and families. You can ask around on Facebook or something for a local girl (that's what I did when I ordered cookies that we don't sell, but the next state over does). I had friends who had friends whose girl is in scouts.

That said, the shipping is crazy, unless you are ordering cases or have absolutely no other way to get cookies, it's not really worth it.

I made perogies and onions with sour cream and fried beef hot-dog coins, (no keilbasa in the house right now), and I'll be doing some nice scrummy Sunday dinner chicken thighs later. It's so cold here, we are just going to do our best to stay in and cozy, and DH said he might help me with a few of my honey-do's around the house, hanging our towel rack/bathroom shelf and a couple pictures etc. We haven't been out anywhere to get cards, but I have a letter I wrote to him on the morning of our wedding. He was supposed to give me one too! lol But he never did, so I might as well give him his today... and eat chocolate. As per usual. He is sweet though and usually makes a very big deal about Valentine's and has also been known to bring me flowers for no reason, so it's all good. ;) I ordered him a new hoodie that hasn't come in yet, and I'm going to book my massage mani/pedi as our gifts to each other. Pretty low-key I guess for a first married Valentine's Day! Is that weird?

Pierogis with sautéed onions and kielbasa is my favorite meal of all time! Yum. I'm jealous. DH wanted steak and boxed Mac and cheese for dinner (boxed Mac and cheese is, unfortunately, DHs favorite food), so that's what he'll get. And I can't complain because it's easy enough to make! This is our first married Valentine's Day as well and we're keeping it super low key, especially cause we weren't able to go see Deadpool like we planned! So hopefully not too weird then, cause we're in the same boat! Enjoy!!

We're not doing anything special. We decided to forgo gifts and get a mutual present to ourselves - new TV for our bedroom.
I bought some really nice steaks from the local butcher and we were going to make those for dinner, but our nephew is staying over and I, somewhat selfishly, don't want to buy another $15 steak for a 17 year old who won't appreciate it. We're going to have the steaks tomorrow instead.

Today is DH's birthday!! I am making a NY strip roast, roasted garlic mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli & doing food prep stuff for the week. Because our puppies have to be kept apart while the little one's leg heals we are basically apart in the house LOL.

I am enjoying a Valentine's Day champagne cocktail or 2 for a Sunday fun day.

The Husband and I started dating 2/10/05 so we have always celebrate on that day and call it both. Though since I'm in CD 2, I really wish he had gotten me a heart full of chocolates... but what can you do.. haha. Hope every one has a great day

@aliciabhen That all sounds great! ...and not so unlike my own DH lol I almost made boxed mac n cheese last night, too! lol Unfortunately, we had to venture out for milk, so I also picked up two little pints of coconut-pineapple ice cream and mango sorbet, too, so that was another special little V-day treat - with whipped cream! Yum

@LoulieFace Sorry about CD2, I too am right there, and have been dutifully working through my chocolate stash. Hope you find something to sooth the savage AF beast!

Brace yourself...
My day has been making breakfast for my family and for my little sister and her boyfriend, cleaning up after them. And then 45 minutes after they leave we get a call. They shredded her tire running over debris from an accident they just missed. So, DH drives 45 minutes to them. They "didn't really know where they are" so he didn't realize it was 45 freaking minutes away. And he has been gone for a couple hours now. Hopefully he will be coming home soon. And so we were going to drop the toddler off at free babysitting at church. Super excited about it. She would have a blast and we were going to go out to eat. But now we won't be able to do that. So, I will just sit here all freaking day serving everyone and not doing anything!!!!!!!! And there was honestly not even a reason for him to go. They are just getting towed because the spare tire was broken or something. So, I am pissed and annoyed and I want one day that is just FREAKING ABOUT ME!!!! I just wanted to have a day with my husband. I wanted my kid to have fun. I was just so excited about something really not even that excited. But the day was going to be so nice. I am just mad and now I am crying. We don't ever get to do anything special. I just really needed this. So, forgive me while I cry and eat the rest of these valentine cookies and just pity myself.

@Lulucooks girl scout cookies have an app????!!! Crazy! When I was a girl scout. In the first grade, my dad taught me to say "how Many boxes can I put you down for?" instead of "would you like to buy some girl scout cookies." lol... Talk about sales School!!!

I totally forgot the best part of v day this year... The day before last, we went fishing and i caught all the fish.. DH caught nothing. So I stumbled across a chocolate fish valentine and of course I bought it and this morning I hooked it to his line and woke him up with it. "look you caught something after all" (he's been pouty that I ALWAYS have luck fishing). Teeehee so so corny... I know!! That's how we roll.
