How are your pets taking it?

Wondering how everybody's pets were handling the new baby! There was so much talk about it before our babies got here!
my dog was doing okay, better than I thought she would, until 2 nights ago, she's been having accidents like crazy every night:/. Not sure if it's related to the new baby or if there's underlying health issues.
The cat was skeptical at first, even a little scared, but now he's getting more used to her and I've gotten quite a few cute cuddling pictures of them. Plus he loves her baby stuff. Haha!

Our 3 cats love the baby gear and are interested in baby. However my poor dog is depressed since baby came. I mean she's seriously off. She wouldn't eat the first two days - 3 weeks later she sometimes still won't eat her food. She sometimes won't go outside to potty and just sits in a corner staring. She won't come to me at all and acts like I'm a perriah lol.

I feel so lucky, our dog has been a rock star. At first she ignored the baby but when she realized he isn't going anywhere she has been so sweet and gentle when she interacts with him. She's made me a proud mama!

Our dog was very hesitant at first. Avoided DD like the plague! It was pretty ad because he would always sleep in our bed, first night home with the baby and he wouldn't even come in our room. She's been home for 2 weeks now and he is finally starting to warm up to her. He cautiously comes over and licks her feet or smells her head but he is still nervous when she makes noises. The other day he even came up on our bed, until DD started crying. But it's improvement! Slowly but surely!

My family dog has been fine. For the first couple weeks she would always wine at the baby especially if the baby was crying. My boyfriend's dog is really obsessed with her and likes to lick her all over the face. It's really annoying because I'm worried that he will give her some sort of bacteria but he really loves her and is protective of her. He is still a puppy so it's sweet.

My 3 dogs have been great. They're a little excitable around baby, and cry when she does. They like to stay close to her. They do seem a little bummed from the lack of attention, but we're trying to make sure they aren't left out. They're just spoiled

Jack, our 8 year old golden retriever, was so great and gentle with Abby. Sadly, we found out he had a very aggressive cancer and had to send him to heaven when she was only 4 weeks old.
Little did we know, he had this cancer for a few months, and it's almost as if he were waiting for Abby to be born before he made his departure. Dogs are truly amazing!

Our two cats have really been uninterested in DD. They smelled her a little when she came home, and mostly have ignored her since. The real interesting part is that our antisocial kitty has been much more loving and friendly. They're much more tolerant of noises and movement now too!

One cat is terrified of our baby because he keeps being around her when she's screaming, and our other old crazy cat keeps trying to step on her en route to our laps.

Our 3 kitties are so curious of Nolan, even how 5 weeks later. Whenever he cries, our matriarch, Moonie, comes right to his side and just stares at him until we get to him. Our male cat, Marty, loves watching him when he's in the rock n play. It reminds me of the part in Lady and the Tramp where Lady stands on her hind legs and leans over the bassinet to see baby...I keep trying to get a picture, but he moves before I can get one. And the little one, Leila, likes to just be near baby. She likes to lie in my lap when I'm feeding LO.

@ambercakes92 my dog licks baby as well.. As long as her tongue isn't near her mouth/eyes I'm okay with it haha. @scornwell717 so sorry about your dog!! They really are amazing though!
@l4rk my kitty tries to step on LO too! I'm not sure what to do about it because I don't want to yell at him for being around the baby and I don't think he'd get why he was in trouble! He's used to climbing all over anyone else he's around!
@missmhemhe my cat is also very interested when I feed baby. I always use a boppy so he can't sit in my lap but he'll circle me and craw underneath the side of the boppy or as close as he can get, and if he's not sleeping by the time I'm done he'll walk away like he couldn't care less. Haha I wonder what they're thinking!

Our dog was really nervous around the baby for the first few days but now she's much more interested. She will come over to check him out anytime he makes any noises, but she still runs and hides when he starts screaming. Can't say I blame her.

We have only been home two days, so it's been interesting to see everything develop. We have two cats and a dog. The dog basically immediately accepted the baby as part of the family (we all get greeted with kisses or attempts at kisses, in the baby's case) when we walk through the door. He hasn't been obsessed with her or anything, but he did check on her in the crib one time when she made a weird noise (he went running over and got on his little hind legs to look in on her, which was adorable.) He definitely plays guard dog and will plant himself right in front of me and the baby when we're breastfeeding.

He was a bit down last night and my husband was nervous it was a lack of attention thing, but then we realized he is EXHAUSTED. Just like us! Haha. He sleeps a lot and since the baby's been here he has not slept a wink. (Guard dog duty is a full time job, apparently.) We went out to a pediatrician appointment and to get coffee this morning and he finally got a chance to rest and was back to his cheerful self.

Our oldest cat loves the baby and has already tried snuggling with her. Our baby cat looks at the baby like she's from outer space, which is hilarious to me. She'll just walk by her crib slowly, all confused. Anyway, I can't wait until baby is old enough to play with her pets!

@maureenmce cute! My dog will guard us while breastfeeding when people are visiting and I go to the other room! It's like she knows when I go to our room to feed LO! I can't wait until she can play with her pets too! I'm happy she won't grow up being scared or hesitant of animals!

My male pit bull (in the pic), who has serious anxiety issues, looked at me like "seriously, another one?" He has licked her on the top of the head a couple times, and is constantly touching me if I'm holding her. He never makes an attempt to get to her or anything. Otherwise, he seems sleepy, like the rest of us

My female pit is in love. She's incredible with kids. My 14 month old sits next to (and occasionally on) her, "shares" his toys with her, etc. and she just eats it up. 8 year old SD snuggles with her and uses her belly as a pillow. Again, the dog loves it.

My dog would barely eat for a week! It got to the point where I was scared and was giving her chicken and rice to encourage eating. and then wouldn't stand on her own like her legs gave out. I was getting ready to take her to the vet and she just jumps up and acted like everything is fine. I guess she just needed some attention too.
I was a wreck with DH already working on day 2 with a "sick" dog and brand new baby

@BarrettJ89 that dog is gorgeous! So is baby. I love pit bulls. This is sugar bear. Her and our springer like to be near the bassinet when she sleeps, and when she cries so do they. Its really annoying

@mrsgetz4000 So cute! I love her ears! Pits are seriously great dogs. Denali (in the picture) is mixed with catahoula leopard dog. For whatever reason he's got serious anxiety issues, so I have to keep an eye on him with the kids. But he would never intentionally harm them. He protects them, big time (especially during tickle wars), just doesn't necessarily run to the younger kids for attention (the oldest scratches his butt, so clearly, they're BFFs).

Our cats literally don't care. One of them night have a little jealousy, but that only manifests itself in wanting more attention.

Unfortunately we had to give away one of our cats. My husband said 3 was too much with a new baby. The good news is my parents took her. The bad news is they live on the other side of the country.

@starree444 I think our cat gets jealous too.. Sometimes he'll go up behind us and bite our leg/foot while we are holding the baby. Like he wants negative attention! Or he'll knock something over and watch our reaction/wait for us to have to get up to make him stop. Haha poor thing is bored! Sorry about your cat! When I moved out of my parents' I left my other cat with them because he hated our dog and he loved my parents' cat so I knew he'd be happier there.

Urgh. My 3 year old lab seems depressed. Last week he threw up. He is so mopey!! He wants nothing to do with the baby, which comes as a shock since my 5 year old is pretty much his "master".
The cat is indifferent. As usual.

Please excuse the mess behind them (thank you, toddler) but my big ol' Libby came to love on the baby. Poor baby girl is NOT a fan of wet willies. But she did seem entertained to watch the dogs walk around her.

Our cats are doing really well. My oldest is mad at me because he gets less attention but he doesn't seem to blame baby. If baby starts crying he will run to her and check to make sure she is okay. Our youngest wants to cuddle her all the time it's so cute.

I keep very vigilant with our dog, but she has done great. When we let her out of the kennel in the AM, she searches for him then acts like he doesn't exist. She isn't allowed to lick, but she smells him. She is always beside me when I nurse. I worry she will step on him if I'm not right there or rub on him like she does us.

@essentialpeace cute!!! I'm worried about my dog running over LO as well! I never leave her on her floor mat unattended because I've seen the dog run the cat over way too many times! Lol
