Bouncer/Swing?

I know we've discussed this in the past, but I cannot find the discussion. If anyone has better luck, can you copy and paste the link?

Anyways, my little Carlos loved his mamaroo in the beginning. We received an older generation from a friend and were thrilled with it. However, overtime Carlos seems to hate it. Now that he is out of the infant insert, he hates being strapped in. Well, it just died randomly two days ago and now I have NOTHING to put him down in when he falls asleep in my arms during the day. He'll sleep in the bassinet but I really try to keep that for nighttime to maintain a schedule. I end up getting nothing done.

Looking online at all the swings and bouncers out there, what do you guys think I should get? He's nearly 2 months old and around 11.5 lbs i'd say.

Also, I'll add I am in Canada, so preferably something I can get here. However, I live on the US border and can go across for the perfect item.

My little guy is about the same age/weight and loves his fisher price bouncer seat (link below). When he kicks his legs it bounces the seat which looks like he loves. He also naps in it better than his crib so we just started putting it in his nursery it's the moniter on him. He would have to be strapped into it though.

He hates the mamaroo also. We got it as a shower gift and are going to return it. Funny how we started with a $250 seat and he prefers a $60 one!

My dd is 13 w and hates it all. She hates the mamaroo, the rock n play and a traditional swing. She has a vibrating napper yhat she tolerates long enough for me to shower, but that's it. She just wants to be held or worn.

DD is 10 pounds and loves the fisher price my little lamb cradle n swing. It's the only thing I can put her down in and more often than not its where she naps.
They make a couple of kinds- not just the lamb one. We have the once that only takes batteries because it was a hand me down given to us by a cousin but if I was buying one is get a version with the plug in adapter. It takes 4 D batteries and they lasted under a month for us before needing to be replaced. The weight limit is 25 lbs.

DD likes her My Little Snugapuppy swing, especially now that she's old enough to appreciate the mobile. She also has a Bright Starts bouncy seat that vibrates, and she likes it sometimes.

I agree with others, my DD loves the Fisher Price snuggapuppy swing. She falls asleep in it most times, and it's a safe place I can set her in if she falls asleep and I need free hands (without it on). I'm borrowing it from a friend - see if your friends have any you can borrow so you don't have to spend the $ + they grow out of them fast!

I just ordered the FP deluxe monkey bouncer and am hoping she will like it. We haven't had a bouncer but she never likes her swing so we don't try that much. Here lately I've been laying her on the ottoman on a blanket to play with her fp kick n play piano and she seems to like that if I'm moving the toys. This bouncer has lights that light up so I hope she likes it. She needs a mobile also bc she is fascinated with ceiling fans!

Also DD sleeps at night in her RNP and also does daytime naps in it. It hasn't confused her days/nights so I'm just going with it. I figure as they age people do naps and bedtime in the crib so hopefully it won't mess her up. Other than her RNP she has to be held to nap...I guess I mean I haven't tried much else bc this works and I don't want to rock the boat

I use the swing for my girl at night to sleep in at first when she is really hard to get down. I have this Graco one, which I think is great for a day time swing, but at night not as comfy as the fisher price one. If I would have known what a life saver it would be for me I would have picked the fisher price one, it's more comfortable.

We just went to BRU to put DD in some of the swings and bouncers to see what she liked. This child has expensive taste. The only one she didn't lose her shit in was the 4moms mommaroo. We decided to get it because she will not let us put her down in the day and I can only wear her so much before my back starts to hurt. Fortunately I had just gotten the endless rewards gift card from our registry!

I just use a quilt on the floor. He'll sleep there and then when he wakes up it's perfect for him to wiggle around and practice movements. I just let him hang out there as long as he's happy to be there.

My LO looooves his snuggapuppy swing! However that being said, we also have the snuggapuppy bouncer and he hates it. It's also at a much higher incline so he slouches down. Not a fan.

Yeah, our son is almost 8 weeks and he has only napped in his crib a few times. He mostly naps in his Fisher Price snugapuppy swing and sleeps in a pack n play in our room at night.

I bought this exact swing, pattern is slightly different. And I ordered it from kohls. At the time it was less than $100. My LO loves it and often falls asleep in it.

We have the Ingenuity Inlighten swing and DS LOVES the light up mobile, but it's not as comfy as the snugapuppy swing at my parents for him. He doesn't really sleep in the swing here, but he does @ my parents.

As a bouncer we have the 4Moms Bounceroo which he used to like but now that he wants more entertainment he prefers the Fisher Price Sit Me Up seat

ETA my baby has so many places to sit, lie down and play and he's only 8 weeks old.

We have a rock n play (hand me down), graco swing (hand me down) and a fisher price newborn to toddler rocker (shower gift). We love the ease of portability of the RNP. We tote it around the house for naps and it goes to grandmas house when we visit. The swing is nice when DS won't sleep or relax anywhere else. We keep the newborn to toddler rocker in the bathroom for when I need to shower or get ready to go. I'm not comfortable with DS napping in the newborn to toddler rocker since it doesn't have any support side to side but he loves to play in it since he can rock it himself by kicking and can bat at the toy bar.

@chaelainev we got the swing in the Target link at a baby to teens consignment shop for half the price, do you have a store like that near you?

us too! My son used it, we gave it to a friend for her lo & now dd uses it every day! Totally agree about the plug in if you can.

We have the Graco DuetSoothe swing. I'm not sure what the max weight is, is the only thing, but Olive adores it.

Btw, where are you located? I'm from canada, living now in the USA and I'm on the border too. I'm like, 30 minutes from Windsor, 4 hours outside Toronto, near Detroit.

Ok yeah, we have that first one. I thought it was called the DuetSoothe. It was handmedowned to us from relatives so I learned its name from google. It's great. I recommend it. And the music that is preprogrammed into it is really quite nice. All classical... classics. And really beautiful. Olive loves the music.

We use the auto rock n play for daytime naps. We also have the Baby Bjorn bouncer, which she loves, but she doesn't sleep in it.

Nope, we got it & used it for a bit, but I don't think it swings fast enough. We bought it at a garage sale (it was practically new) for $35 & I don't even think it was worth that much. I'd have been pissed if we paid $250.

I purchased a swing off of fb from a local buy sell trade site and it was the best $40 I spent. We bought it from grandparents who used it twice for their grandson and it was in new condition. When I looked online it retailed for $160 but it is a swing and bouncer in one. Our little guy loves the swings and loves the bouncy seat as well. I like that the seat itself can recline if needed. It's so easy to take it apart and then just snap the bouncy back into the swing.

DD loves the RNP for naps and to hang out. It's great because it's lightweight so I bring it all over the house with me. We also bring it with us when we go to my in laws.
We also have a BabyBjörn bouncer with a toy bar. She plays in it but she won't stay in it for long. I think once she's a little older and discovers that she can bounce herself in it she'll like it more.
