So I always thought we'd go to Pueto Rico or the Caribbean on our babymoon, but now I can't because of the Zika outbreak. So, I'm throwing around ideas about Europe (some combo of northern Italy, Paris, and/or London) or keeping it somewhat local (New England/Mid Atlantic). Since I'm a teacher, I won't be able to leave until school is out, so I'll be around 29 - 32 weeks.
a. For those of you who have been through this before, am I going to be up to 2 weeks in Europe at 30 weeks? Or will an easy trip in driving distance be better?
b. What are you plans for travel now? Has Zika thrown any monkey wrenches in your plans?
Re: Babymoon and Zika!
Personally, I was not interested in travelling by 30 weeks. We usually go to Toronto for July 1st every year and I didn't want to go the year I was pregnant. I wasn't due until late August and even almost two months early, I had absolutely zero interest in going and walking around in the heat. I wasn't one bit sad to let DH go on his own.
So so I think Europe would be a great option but I would really recommend trying to go either over march break or as soon as school is done because you might not be up for much adventure over the summer.
I live in FL so it's just a matter of time before Zika hits here and I probably read a little more about it more than the average pregnant woman right now.
Just a heads up, Europe will also be effected by the virus this summer at some point.
I was due with DD in September. I wouldn't have been up for a walking heavy trip at 30 weeks. I started passing out due to low blood pressure around then.... All that to say, you could have a perfect pregnancy and be fine but pregnancy is weird as shit and things happen. I'd stay close to home.

I'll be about 10 weeks and my doctor says not to worry about Zika, just cover both of us in 20% Deet bug spray. We got some stuff to spray on our clothes to treat them, bug spray, and repellent wipes, so we feel pretty good. We're also hoping the mosquitoes won't have started hatching quite yet.
Zika is pretty scary, but I suppose it will even make it's way up to Wisconsin before this baby is born. In case pregnancy wasn't stressful enough, let's add a virus!
I hope everyone has fun on their babymoons!
Growing up on Long Island I am a true Montauk girl. It's gotten way more popular over the years, but it is still one of my most favorite places in the world.
